Yours was born on Canada Day, and mine on Independence Day. Funny.

I've already told mine that it might be too scary -- it looks it -- but he has the picture books, and what-not, and thus seems inured to the visuals. My 3-year-old daughter is going as well, and her (July 1st, also) 3-year-old best friend. Us mamas will be ready to cover their eyes, if need be. (But they've seen the original sooooo many times...)

Isn't this movie based on a ride? I've got a screenplay about me standing in line for an hour at the DMV, where's my millions?

"What's a move?"

Looks to be the opposite of a pirate:

Does that grid take into account pirates from the animal kingdom?

That is pretty funny! And I was, of course, born on Constitution Day.

My daughter hasn't seen the original. I thought it might scare her, though she is mad about all things PIRATE.

That's the reason I would go see it! Reviews have not been flattering.

Har! That makes it all the more clever -- a movie inspired by a Disneyland ride. You obviously haven't seen the first "Pirates," and I would wager you haven't been on the ride. As a fan of both, I found the the first movie to be vastly entertaining, and a fun ride in and of itself.

It's sad... after two boys I was so happy to have a girl, and add some much-needed feminity to the mix. But does she seek to emulate me? No. Not at all. It's all pirates, and all football, all the time. She tackles, and she ARRRR!s, with the best of 'em.

*sigh*

If the critics hated it, that's a sure sign I'm going to love it.

Meryl is the devil!!!
j/k... glad you enjoyed 'Prada'....

Prada was just great. Because of Streep, mostly, but some secondary performances were very good also -- Tucci, of course, and the gal who played "Emily". (The scenes with "Andy" and her friends were annoying acting-class-esque, but...) The music was great, the clothes were fab, the bags divine, and the shoes!...
