As of 12am, AndyK is also the #2 PPD producer for the freeper team. Congrats....
But why 37".... hold out for the 56". Prices will be dropping after Christmas, just in time to get the super duper one for the playoffs and superbowl.
btw... have I bragged lately about my newest laptop acquisition? A Dell XPS 2010. 3.16ghz dual core, with 4gb of ram, two 120gb hard drives..... I'm not going to tell anyone what I paid for this magnificent beast, but if you're looking for the ultimate in multimedia, sandwiched halfway between a laptop (man sized .... ) and a desktop, this is the beast for you. Pr0n on a 20" screen is awesome... :)
Yep, and yep.
It usually works out, that one thread runs a bit faster than the other, but you effectively boost your machine performance by about 80% by running two instances of FAH.
I haven't checked lately, but I've had a few dual processor HT servers running 4 instances of FAH, since December, and they continue to crank em out....
Hah! Take that!
...although I'm sure it'll be short-lived.
I've been praying to the Thanksgiving turkey for a new rig.
Did you pass me ?
I'm looking 12 hours after the post, and don't see anything different.
The only thing short lived will be my lead on you. My "tweaking" has once again gotten me in trouble. Some people just never learn, and I'm one of them. I don't have the time right now to figure out what I did, but hopefully Sunday I'll be able to get a lock on those 1495's again.
Just pass me and get it over with please........ LOL
Yeah, it lasted for one update period, and was only by about 50 points... and you quickly came back and smeared me into the mud again!
Finally making use of your monitor. Thanks very nice. Just wish linux was friendlier and I'd have another box listed.
Past time for a new thread?
It's time for a new thread. I'll get to work on it this week.
Maybe we can post it in honor of past Texas football. Ain't done so good this weekend.
Thanks!
Yeah, Linux is a little harder to implement, requiring some hoops be jumped through. A couple of people have found a work-around by either copying the status file to a Windows box, and having that box run the script, or by sharing out the Linux folding folder, and having a Windows box run the script against the status file in that shared folder.
Welcome to the "fold".
Glad to be here.

How to get a Linux box to show up on Egon's FAH monitor page
This is for those who don't know much about Linux, but are running FAH on both a Linux box and a Windows box and are using Egon's Fah monitor to upload stats on all their systems to Egon's stat page so they can track all their systems in one place. The following assumes that you are successfully running his monitor on your Windows boxes.
- On your Linux box, share the folder on your local network that you use to run the FAH program. (For this example, let's call that folder C:\home\username\fold) Make sure to grant the proper permissions for you to access this folder from the Windows box.
- Copy the FAHUpload.vbs script file from one of your Windows boxes to the folder on the Linux box that you made to run the FAH program. (For this example, let's use the network path: \\linuxboxname\home\username\fold)
- On the Linux box, edit the script file you just copied. (enter team number and user name, machine name, etc.)
- On your Windows box, open 'My Network Places' and browse to the folder on the Linux box that is used for folding, (ie. \\linuxboxname\home\username\fold)
- Double-click the script file to run it once.
- Use your internet browser to go to Egon's monitor page and see if your Linux box is now showing up.
- If it's not there, go back to step one and troubleshoot - if you can't figure it out, ask.
- If it is there, then open the Windows Task Scheduler (in Control Panel) and create a new task by browsing on your local network to the script file on your Linux box.
- It should now report the stats as scheduled. Ask if you need more help.
Hope this helps.

Looks good except, how do I share a folder on the linux box?
"Looks good except, how do I share a folder on the Linux box?"
That's a secret - LOL.
Series, it may be different on different flavors (Red Hat, Mepis, Debian, etc). On mine (Mepis), you right click on the folder and select 'share' at the bottom of the pop-up menu. Then you set the read-write-full permissions and the owner-group. You have to have the same log-on name and password for the Windows and the Linux box so that person can access the folder. See if your version of Linux has a help file that can give you more specific advice.
I know we have some FReepers which are more advanced Linux users than I am. If you tell us your version of Linux, maybe they can give more helpful info.
CALLING ALL LINUX USERS - HELP!
Hope they heard that, heheh.
