GOVERNOR.................................Tom Gallagher
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER.... Tom Lee
COUNTY COMMISSIONER...............Chip Sellers....Cliff Thaell MUST GO !!!
COUNTY JUDGE.............................Ron Flury
MAYOR........................................Larry Hendricks
CITY COMMISSIONER (seat 3).........Brian Armstrong
CITY COMMISSIONER (seat 5)........Allan Katz
Ok gang, this is where I stand as of today.. I might be still persuaded on the local candidates if anyone cares to make an argument I am open..
Where do these guys stand on Abortion, Same Sex Marriage, and ID?
As for the local candidates I have no idea... there is only limited information available..... The Statewide candidates are Pro-Life, Pro-Family
He has a long history of cheating on his wife on a regular basis....he is well-known in a number of Miami bars for his frequent womanizing (while he was married to his first wife). Used to be you could leave a message for him at one of of several of the bars and he'd return it quite soon.
While he was "working his rear end off" on his legislative work in Washington D.C. his wife flew up from his Florida home to visit him. Her father-in-law had to pick her up at the airport because "Tomcat" Gallagher was out on a date with a married woman when she arrived.
Realizing that his image needed to be changed he has since become "Mister Family" and he has flip-flopped his stance on gun control much like John Kerry "I was in favor of it before I was against it".
He is a Bill Clinton "Mini-Me", and the Democrats are ready to reveal their treasure trove of stuff they are ready to trash him with.
so you are willing to give Mr. Crist a pass on supporting Homosexual Marriage, and Homosexual Adoption?
You misread my post. I am not supporting anyone.
I am just letting you know that the Dems have a lot of ammunition piled up against Gallagher that they can't wait to turn loose and I happened to find out about it quite by accident.
*Save this post for later, after they try to pull this off and you'll see what I mean.)
They are hoping we "jump from the frying pan into the fire" on his candidacy and I am seeing a lot of us complying with their wishes.
The reason for this is that they have come up with more negative stuff about him than you'd ever imagine, and most of it is undeniable. The liberals should love the fact that he has the morals of Bill Clinton but doesn't restrict his menu to interns, but they would rather use it as ammo against him and his campaign and that will be forthcoming.
How could we be so blind as to think they would not do this?
So if you are not supporting anyone you are sitting out the Governors race?
What it boils down to is that the Democrats are sitting on what they think is enough damaging stuff against Gallagher that they will be trying to help him in the primaries in hopes of being able to use their smear stuff after he is nominated (too late to turn back).
Not hard to figure out what they are up to.
it is going to be an interesting primary

I'm with Capt Norm on this one. I'm to the point where I don't support either one.
His website doesn't appear to address gay adoption, but it does claim he supported the defense of marriage act. Do you know something that contradicts this?
Gallagher considers quitting race for governor Tom Gallagher is weighing whether to drop out of the governor's race to help his supporters rally around his rival in the GOP primary.

What are these candidates saying about illegal immigration?

W-Girl....You should be furious at Bill Nelson not Tom Gallagher!
Katherine Harris has cosponsored a bill to provide for a National Catastrophic Fund to stem Florida's insurance crisis and sponsored a bill to address key operational and organizational deficiencies within FEMA.
Today, Florida's property owners are paying a big price for Bill Nelson's monumental error in his previous role as State Insurance Commissioner. Nelson allowed insurance companies to separate Florida from the national pool, resulting in soaring rates for policy holders.
Will McBride is a 33 year old kid with no elected experience....The Senate Dems will have him for lunch! Katherine Harris has the guts to take them on and get the job done!
Harris could have held the House seat easily.. I think that would have been a better choice for her.. IMHO

>>Nelson allowed insurance companies to separate Florida from the national pool, resulting in soaring rates for policy holders.
Government has no role deciding commercial strategies for insurance companies, any more than for Walmart. A better criticism is that Nelson took a job that amounts to nothing more than welfare: a pointless job funded by the taxpayers in which you do least harm by doing nothing. Better still would be to focus on his failings as a Senator. You will get nowhere arguing he should be sacked as a Senator for something he did or didn't do in a previous job.
>>Will McBride is a 33 year old kid with no elected experience....
Thirty three years old is adult. No elected experience? You mean he has had real jobs? Good for him. Same level of experience that Reagan and both Bush brothers had when they ran for governors in three of the largest states in the Union. And governors have real jobs to do; Senators just talk and vote. Better to have people with real world experience than people who have spent years living off the taxpayer.

Excuse me, but what does "bttt" mean?
interesting article in today's Miami herald. Not sure the title fits the content but seems to be very telling about the senate candidates immigration stance.

U.S. SENATE RACE
Campaign immigration spat hinges on misunderstanding
An immigration argument in Florida's U.S. Senate race turned on a questionable translation.
second paragraph from bottom:
McBride said he would support a barrier -- if it were shown to be cost effective -- and favors a compromise between the House and Senate bill in which illegal residents could legally get their work papers. He said that, before they could win citizenship, illegal immigrants would have to go back to their native countries and check in at a ''mini Ellis Island'' to process their paperwork, provided the system were efficient and didn't rip families apart.
LeRoy Collins Jr. and Harris are only senate candidates to come right out and say NO Amnesty, they both favor the House bill. I'm not crazy about McBrides plan, seems like amnesty to me.
I'll be voting for Harris.
it in a common internet term means "Bump to the top" a short reply to a post for the purpose of placing the thread at the top of you "My Comments" list..
Thanks. I have encountered the one word post 'bump' before but never the bttt abbreviation.

Thank you, I will be calling him with some questions. thanks for posting that
Just had a brief discussion with Brian Armstrong, and I will continue to support him. Brian told me that he "has not formed an opinion" on the consoldation issue, however he seems willing to seriously consider what is in the best intrest of the citizens, which is the best we can get at this point.
