There has been an "unprecedented outbreak" of anthrax in Canada (plus a case or two on the US side of the border).
So far, animals are the sole casualties, but the speed with which the outbreak is spreading is disturbing: Is this a natural event...or something else ?

"The outbreak has been "agricultural" , and so far , the only known victims have been cattle, goats, deer, and buffalo. One human , a veterinarian ,sustained a "skin contact" lesion - despite precautions on his part - but received prompt treatment and is making satisfactory recovery."
It's not unheard of to happen but what is unusual is the speed and scale of it.
Bush of course.
He might as well be. I saw some liberals blaming him for the John Karr debacle already this morning.
There were thousands of cows and buffalo that died from anthrax in North Dakota last year.
A year ago my in-laws got anthrax in their buffalo herd. Our four kids were there the week herd came home for vaccinations. None of the humans involved showed any signs of anthrax. Kinda scary though having your kids 250 miles away working a buffalo herd which ended up having 30% loss to anthrax.
Years ago on the TV show "Trapper John MD" they had a biker come into the emergency room with inhalation anthrax. They tracked it back to his homemade sheepskin vest and on to the ranch where there was anthrax in the flock.
One has to be careful when dealing with dead animal. One guy made a drum out of a skin and got sick. He waited too long for medical help and died from anthrax.
