Several things you can always rely on … sun coming up in the morning, taxes and inane comments by Willy.

Willie; the people I know who have met you say you are a nice and slightly oddball guy. Thanks for sharing your opinion.Isn't it great we all can do that so openly.

I'll keep listening to your music. You've always been active in doing what you thought was right.Good for you.

But excuse me for saying you are big-time wrong.I hope your side loses and is thoroughly discredited.

A little less weed might let you think more clearly.

Ole Willy has been a closet liberal for years and the older/and stupider he gets the further out of the closet he adventures. Being a NBT (native born Texan) I think his music is great but if there has ever been an example of an entertainer exploiting his/her celebrity as a means to express their views this is it. Fortunately, those of us who have kept up with Willy all these years don't take his personal opinions seriously - we just enjoy his music and let him ramble...

He's become a liberal turd, but his old quote about the golf course still makes me laugh. his music, well, i can't separate him from his music. If I did, then we'd have to give a pass to the Dixie Sluts too and I'm just not sure i want to do that.

IMO of course.

Pinkos have always caterwauled about wanting 'peace', providing it's the USA that completely disarms itself first.

At this point in time, true 'peace candidates' will be those who support the complete and immediate annhiliation of the Islamofascists and all relevant State sponsors, using whatever means is judged necessary by our military commanders. That's the only way that we will achieve peace in this war with the USA emerging alive afterwards.
Willie's 'peace candidates' will eventually bring 'peace' but with the USA ending up as a combination of smoldering ruins and Sharia /Islamofascist fiefdoms.

Why couldn't you have just stayed with music, Willie, and not oozed into the political arena in such a low-class way? You're going to sell a whole lot fewer records this way and lose most of your previous fans.

Elvis had it right...when a reporter asked him how he felt about the Vietnam war, his reply was essentially that he was a musician, not a politician, and he didn't want to get into that stuff.

There is a great episode of the Simpsons when they have a rally to legalize "Medical" marijuana. They all get so stoned they miss the vote. Great episode.

Please don't compare Willie to the Dixie Chickens. Willie's great and I don't give a crap if he's setting the commie manifesto to music. (BTW--If he ever did that, it would sound great!)

He wouldn't know a liberal idea from a conservitive idea. When it comes to politics, he'll just say "yeah, man" to whomever he's smokin' a fatty with at the moment.

I always heard that his herb was top shelf
Lord I just could not wait to find out for myself.
Well don't knock it till you've tried it.
And I've tried it my friend.
I'll never smoke Weed with willie again!

Now we learned a hard lesson in a small Texas town
He fired up a fat boy and he passed it around
The last words I spoke before they tucked me in
I may discount Bungee jump but,
I'll never smoke weed with Willie again.

[Chorus:]
I'll never smoke weed with Willie again
My party's all over before it begins
You can pour me some Old Whiskey River my friend.
But I'll never smoke weed with Willie again

We hopped on his old bus the Honeysuckel Rose
The party was Huntsville, it was after the show
Alone in the front lounge, just me and him
I took one friendly puff and the grim creeper set in

[Chorus]

Now we're passin' the guitar, we're tellin' good jokes
I can tell one's a comin' 'cause I'm smellin' smoke
No I do not partake I just let it pass by
With a grin on my face and a great contact high

[Chorus]

In the fetal position with drool on my chin
We broke down and smoked weed with Willie again

Like how you disagree...not so condemning, as opposed to some of the more mean spirited posts. Read his book a few years ago, seems like a good down to earth man, could care less if he smokes pot. Personally I'm growing a little weary of this war in Iraq and hope for some solution soon. The most reasonable I've heard lately is to partition into autonomous thirds (Shiite, Sunni Kurd), they can't seem to live together. Live next to Camp Pendleton, want a solution for the sake of the young men, they deserve better.
