Milton Friedman - Good & Dead

If anyone could be said to be the father of the Libertarian Party, it would be Milton Friedman. Many men have had many bad ideas, but few have had the opportunity of putting them to such universal use.

Father of supply side economics, Friedman is responsible for each of us paying 20% of our federal tax bill for interest on the Reagan and Bush debt. Friedman’s philosophy puts the bill for greed now – pay later on the backs of our children and grandchildren.

While the rest of the civilized world has an overall average tax of about 40%, we have the lowest at 30% (we are the least taxed nation who complains the most), which Friedman has said should be fixed below 10%. One can well imagine the chaos and ponder how we would deal with it. The answer is quite simple, just follow the man’s overall philosophy; bigger guns and more methamphetamines. How cool is that? Where do I sign up! Here’s a place to begin: http://freerepublic.com

He is also most responsible for creating our all-volunteer Army. During the Vietnam War the officer corps was about 65% Republicans with the enlisted personal at about 55%. Today 96% of officers and 70% of enlisted men are beholden to the GOP. If the mathematical projection holds, in less than ten years both will settle in at 99%.

If we still had the draft we would not be in Iraq now. Our decision makers would not want Senator’s Sons and President’s daughters chancing into flag draped coffins. The streets would be pounding with less connected draft age sons and daughters burning draft cards and chanting Hell No We Won't Go.

I'm sorry, I should have issued a warning to hold your nose while you read the above. If you remember the author of it, you will not be surprised.

It was written Monday, December 4. 2006 Posted by rack jite in "Comeuppance"

In an article on the newest of the left leaning blog/sites - or should I say the newest version of an old one.

While we mourn this man who has dedicated his life to our country, and done so much in many areas from finances, the much needed all volunteer military, and who has changed the lives of schoolchildren in immeasurable ways, it seems THIS Super Liberal is doing a flamenco dance on his grave!

This will be no surprise to anyone who remembers Jite.

It seems his site has been revived, and I GUESS we should feel honored as he has placed a link to Freerepublic on his home page under the header "Know Thy Enemy".

It is on the same page as the disgusting article about Mr. Friedman, may he rest in peace. http://rackjite.com

I don't want to be the Lone Ranger over there, having just discovered it. It seems to be in the starting stages again with only he and some left leaning pals for company.

Not only that, but in an obvious oversite, it seems one need not even sign in to comment. I couldn't believe it. It LOOKS like we may also comment on his blog and discussion boards: http://rackjitecom/serendipity and http://rackjite.com/smf where I personally think he should get a taste of someone else's opinion other than his own and those of like mind. How else will this country ever stop being the polarized place in which we now live? Left leaning blogs and boards are proliferating at an alarming rate. I say if one is dumb enough to leave the gate open, let's kick HIS *ss! (to use his terminology).
