Yes, it is a legitimate research topic.

For example, here's a study from the Journal of Endocrinology that describes reduction of testosterone levels in rats that have eaten soy phytoestrogens.

Thanks for the actual science. It's for real.

"Articles like this doom WND. No, water causes homosexuality"

I've wondered for a long time what your problem was, but now I know: you have no sense of humor. The part about homosexuality was intended to lighten up the article; some see it, some don't.

The rest of the article is quite factual, and it has been standard practice for oncologists to warn their brest and prostate cancer patients to stay away from soy, due to the phyto-estrogen.

Does it really matter? We've gone way off topic already here, this is now officially a fun thread, no factual or scientific analysis allowed anymore!

All the men I know who eat a LOT of soy watch Oprah. They are very gentle, caring men. It is refreshing to have men this way.

If you want gentle, caring, and Oprah-watching, why not just hang out with women?

Having seen a lot of WingNutDaily stuff, they're deadly serious about their idiocy, and I don't think this was intended as a humor piece at all.

"What about the billion+ Asians that eat significant amounts of soy products?"

A myth.

They do use a lot of soy sauce, and other fermented products, but until recently, have not used much unfermented soy. White rice is their starch of choice.

Yes, most bourbon drinkers schedules aren't usually:

6 AM - Get to gym, 45 minutes cardio, 45 minutes free weights.

8 AM - Get to office early, get to work.

12 PM Tofu and germ sprouts on 7 Grain Bread. Loosen tie, walk twice around building with sneakers and suit.

5 PM - Steamed chicken breast with vegetables

6-11 PM Drink Bourbon

Thanks for the actual science. It's for real.

The study is just about the "actual science" of testosterone levels in rats. That's all.

I think that the WND article is mostly pseudoscientific hyperbole, but there is a germ of truth in it.

Oh..I didn't read the study article yet;) But I was applauding your effort to "get scientifical". I read about these estrogen analogs in the soy and the hypothesis that they interfere with male development from a respectable journal before, but I have not kept up with the reports. It's certainly plausable, IMO. Yes, there is a germ of truth in the WND articles;)
