Good post. I think this letter will prove to be very significant in due time...as corroborating evidence of a motive as to why these prosecutions were conducted in the manner they were conducted.

I think Rohrabacher, Hunter, Culbertson, and Poe have had it with this Justice Department, and this Administration in regards to the border enforcement issues.

I have too...three strikes and youre out. Actually there are now four...when it comes to Justice Dept.

1 Ashcroft is called into Presidents office and reportedly, dressed down for 'objecting' to Gorelick on the 9-11 commission. John later resigns as AG (health reasons...yeah)...never to be seen or heard in public again....hmmmmmm.....and in steps Alberto.

2 Sandy Berger is given less than a slap on the wrist, allowed to have his max security clearance REINSTATED after just 3 years (makin big big bucks these days Sandy)...the Justice Dept lawyer recommends the MINIMUM fine of 10K...the judge bumps it up to 50K...(out of embarrassment I guess). Right then and there...I knew something was amiss big time over at Justice.

3 After Curt Weldon makes a big stink over ABLE DANGER, and calls for the Administration to back him up and go after the data that would have tarred the CLINTONS, and ended Hillary's chances in 08....what happens?? The Justice Dept launches an investigation into Curt's daughters activities...invades her offices...and then...in the final October surprise...soembody conveniently leaks details of this investigation to the press, sealing Curt's fate. Ask Curt how he feels about it...if you can locate him...poor guy. The Clintons insert their own personal lackey in to replace Curt.

4 Read the statements of Dana, Walter Jones, Poe, and Mc Caul, regarding the cooperation they got from Justice and DHS when trying to get basic information regarding the BP Agents case during the last year or so. Transcripts being delayed for a year, thus denying the BP agents the ability to start an appeal process..after having denied the agents motion for bail pending appeals.... based on a FLIGHT RISK ...outrageous for agents with FAMILIES and no criminal records, who were serving their country in harms way. Notice that I haven't even mentioned the actual prosecutions and trials of the agents ..thats a whole 'nother matter...BR>
IMHO, the Hernandez case seems to be a simple clear cut case of Prosecutorial abuse, maybe even more so than the Ramos/Compean case, based on what I have seen up till now.. and before people (not me...no time!)have had time to digest in detail the transcripts from the Ramos Compean case..these may prove to be the most damning of all evidence for this Justice Department...particularly given Ramos beating in jail, and a possible later large cash award for the drug smuggler.

This is the reason for my new tagline...people should rise up and demand standards of a Gonzales Justice Department that are at least the equal of...if not HIGHER that those they once demanded of the Rieno Justice Department.

The degree of butt kissing demonstrated by this Administration to the Mexicans never ceases to amaze me.

George Bush has done more to create disharmony and discord among conservatives than anyone I can think of over this issue.

Sure, he helped reduce taxes and is hanging tough with the Bolsheviks in Congress on Iraq, but this border crap is unforgivable. And I still believe it contributed to our losses in 2006.

Dittoes! The more that comes out about this, the madder I get!!! Why our BP agents are still in prison is beyond me!
I have to wonder how many folks involved are on the take from the Mexican government, the drug runners, etc......

If and when Aldrete is awarded $5 million U.S. dollars, a whole lot of kickbacks will ensue. Wonder how much would remain for his use.

Face it folks. The world is officially, totally UpSiDe DoWn....

He's a mule. Perhaps he's brought back cash on the flip-flop and had to account for every dollar.

The 5 mill belongs to the business and he cannot touch it.

The free flow of drugs at market prices.

It was Compean and Ramos' bad fortune to come between businessmen and their profit.

Perhaps in time it will become the businessmen's bad fortune.

Fumigate the Department of Justice.

Maybe Rudy could do that; I think he took on some tough guys back in the day.

Gonzales, Sutton, and on down to the two Sanchezes, there are dirty cops who really need to be reduced to pacing.

It reminds me of a long ago nonfiction Prince of the City, corrupt cops busted by a whistleblower.

War On Drugs my ass.

Well, I found out from #12 that Rene Sanchez is the one who advised his friend the drug dealer to sue the USA and helped him procure an attorney to do so... last I heard Rene Sanchez still works on the border here in Arizona while the two men who tried to stop this drug dealer are in jail. I agree with La Enchiladita, the world is upsidedown.
