Ditto on the clarity, again : ) I don’t want it thought that I think the Corps has a big ego, or could win all the schong swinging contests.
Well, I do, but that’s beside the point.
I am NOT going to be able to make this point. LOL!!!
There is resentment outside the Corps because while it’s all good natured ribbing, everyone knows the Corps thinks a lot of itself. And I’m just not going to touch the swinging schongs with a ten foot pole.
I give up! : )
Yeah, I hear yeh. Some folk just never can quite understand that whole issue of pride and esprit :)
But I will say in all honesty, most of the resentment from the heathen comes from the heathen having their heads firmly up and lodged.
And there we have it. LOL! I can say no comment and look impartial, which would be a lie, and I don’t lie. (Well, I did once, when I was five, and my mom spanked me and then my dad felt bad and took me out for a fun day with his Boy Scout Troop : )
Or I can say I agree and we both look like we’re challenging someone...anyone... to whip out a schong.
This is something I just really do not understand.
There is no reason that every member of each of our military branches isn’t as loudly proud of their organization as the Marine is of his USMC.
The USAF can hit anyone anywhere within a matter of hours of first frago. The USMC cant do that.
The USN is the the primary guarantee and security provider for international shipping on the planet. The USN is also the dominant naval power in recorded history and naval power has been the traditional means of measuring a nation’s strength for generations.
The USA can survive in time of war without the USMC but not without the US Army. It is the size, strength and capability of our US Army, Air Force and Navy that enemy nations consider when deciding not to give us grief... Not the USMC.
The USCG is filled heroes that risk their own lives to save others in desperate situations at sea in peace time and war.
So, if any member of any branch of our armed forces is lacking in pride for that branch, that’s just too damn bad.
The average Marine is not too proud of his USMC except by comparison to those that just cant find it in themselves to stand up and get loud with pride for their own.
As a retired Marine, I cannot believe the actions against the very men that are making the Corps great. The leaks must stop, and the leakers given the punishment they deserve. Crap like this is one of the reasons my son got out, and I’m sure others are seeing how they will be protected from false charges brought by the very leaders who are charged with their care. Semper Fidelis should mean the same , regardless of the rank.
Amen, Grimmy.
