Both are wrong in my book.

And in my book too.

Only because more than 98% of the population are not homosexual. Roughly one third or a little more of all child molestation is same sex, IOW - perpetrated by homosexuals.

While it is true that ‘sin is sin’, and that ‘if you break the law in one place you have broken the entire law.’, God indeed does look at various sins in different degrees.

The fact that all sin is sin, does not mean that God does not regard certain sins as more serious than others. He certainly does.

For example. not all sins required the same penalty. Certain sins required offerings. Some sins required restitution, sometimes multiple restitution over what was taken/destroyed. Some sins required the death penalty.

You may say that well Scripture says that the wages of sin is death, God treats them all the same. In this aspect this is true, but this is just an illustration of the fact that on one level, if you break the law in one part, God is consistent in that any violation of his law is treated the same and fairly (ie eventual temporal death/spiritual death). That doesn’t negate the fact God requires different temporal punishments for certain sins above and beyond the fundamental fact that ALL sin guarantees death.

And since God’s character is unchanging (and thank God for that consistency), you can’t simply write this off as only being an Old Testament thing, in terms of how God views sin.

Certainly the earthly Law given unto man has varying penalties, and accounts for “degrees” of evil. However, God has but one eternal penalty for sin: damnation. He is “no respecter of persons”, and all sin suffers this same punishment. The only way to escape God’s just punishment is by donning the righteousness of Christ. If a person does not go through Jesus, he will go to hell - whether he is Saddam Hussein or Mother Theresa. By that standard, God sees no distinction among sins.
