Duncan Hunter: Doing What Rangers Do
News Which Cannot Lose ^ | 10/25/07 | Cyber Patriot

Posted on 10/25/2007 2:09:28 PM PDT by pissant

In the marvelous writings of J.R.R. Tolkien, there was a group of dedicated warriors who protected their people by fighting bravely against the forces of darkness. These fighters for freedom were called Rangers.

In our nation's history, the U.S. Army's elite Ranger force scaled the cliffs at Normandy in our fight against the Nazis. Heroics is what Rangers do, freedom is what they fight for, protecting the nation is their reason to be.

One single Ranger is giving his all to protect America, not only in legislatively supporting proactive military action abroad, but building fences and speaking out concerning border security at home. His name is Duncan Hunter. He is scaling a cliff that many say is impossible; namely his run for the White House. Rangers do the impossible, because the alternative is unacceptable.

The congressman has a loyal group of activists who write letters to the editor, post on websites, call in talk-radio shows, and run blogs. These folks have been affectionately labeled "Hunter's Rangers". One of the more interesting creations of this group of supporters is a weekly webcast on Thursday evenings at 9:00 PM Eastern. To listen in, the live stream can be found at: http://www.monksmedia.com/

Aragorn son of Arathorn, was a Ranger in Tolkien's Lord of the Rings trilogy. He eventually became king. Duncan Hunter would never seek to be a king, but as President of the United States he would serve the nation and protect his people from the darkness. Rangers do that.

Duncan Hunter was interviewed yesterday on Mark Levin’s radio talk show. Just great.

You can go to Mark Levin web site
or MarkLevinFan web site and get the replay of it.

Nice!

I noticed, that while Duncan Hunter has been in CA doing whatever needs to be done there to help, from the beginning, none of the news reports have mentioned his name. We have heard the endless list of Democrats and of course Arnold, but I don’t think even the President thanked him. Though I doubt Hunter noticed, I did.

You know, pissant. I don’t understand why so many people have no backbone - no spirit - no determination to see that justice is done anymore! Instead of whining, why don’t they roll up their sleeves and say, I will give my all to do my part in seeing that the RIGHT man gets the nomination, against any and all odds! THAT is the America I remember! THAT is the America I respect and love. THAT is the America which will prevail in the future! No more second best for me.

Duncan Hunter won against an 18-year Dem incumbent 28 years ago, in a 2 - 1 Dem district. He was considered a long shot then. Sound familiar? :)

Don’t underestimate Hunter. He’s a Ranger.

I take this with a HUGE grain of salt, because Pew is left leaning, but Pew polls stated that the majority of people couldn’t name any Republican candidate.

Even if that’s HALF true, it shows that many folks haven’t started to pay attention yet, so there’s plenty of time to support Duncan Hunter.

I’ve read that editor’s letters are read more than any other part of the newspaper, so please write your Duncan Hunter letter soon.

Plus, it’s one of the things Hunter asks us to do on his website. :)

Yeah that’s all fine and well, but beside you, myself, and the other 2% ( at best ) that will vote for him how does that equate to a win? We have been trying to spread the Gospel for 2007 years and still have less the 35-40% of the world enlightened. You think you can raise the 2% to a winning margin by late February with all that marvelous press coverage he gets.

Outside of this forum where hunter is well-known I talk to conservatives ( not Freepers ) who still barely know his name because they are getting their news from tv. How do he intend on remedying that lack of coverage? The ones I know know more about Fred ( in the race what a month now ) than they do Hunter. At least I can find solace in the fact they all won’t vote Rooty. I talk and point out his record and direct them to his web page and the next time I see them they are still uninformed. He has a lot of mainstream apathetics he needs to get in touch with.

At some point it will come down to trying to ensure some sort of a conservative wins the nod to keep Rooty out.

Not to worry. The Christian Right has not chimed in yet, and I suspect endorsements from there will run to Hunter...

Well if they do not start chiming in soon before you know it ( 10 weeks from now ) Rudy will win a couple of primaries while the conservative base is in a 3 way split and we end up getting that knucklehead which keeps 10-20% of Republicans home in November ( myself included ) just enough to elect Rooty’s evil twin sister.

..there are those who have presumed to speak for the Religious Right in those two "Values Voter" conventions over the last month

I have discovered that there is an "establishment" even in this group which does not necessarily speak for the masses. Even bloggers have picked up on this.

Those who are in the tank for Romney and Huckabee do not speak for the rest of us...

I am hoping so... with the exception of a few true conservative radio/bloggers we have found that most of the Conservative media is shilling for Rudy- absolutely astounding to me, and not expected (especially from Shawn Hannity). We still have to see, but the heavy hitters haven't said anything yet (how 'bout it Rush? are you a Conservative first?).

Don't worry too much, as the right endorsements can turn him around in a day. Money would be good, but PRESS would be better.

It doesn't matter to me, because Hunter will appear on my ballot come hell or high water (with the only exception being if Tanc has a serious shot and Hunter bows out).

He’s been taking care of his constituency so any news would not be about him, but about the fires.

He lost his home in the Cedar Fires in 2003 and was about to spend their first night in the new home when they had to evacuate!

Can you imagine?
