MD4BUSH re-incarnate: im4fred re-incarnate tries to disrupt Freerepublic.com
November 17, 2007 | Vanity

Posted on 11/17/2007 4:18:26 AM PST by topher

Jim Robinson has created such powerful software for his site that evil and wicked people have found kinks in the armour to try to cause problems to this site.

One such kink in the armour is spamming via FreepMail.

Ol' Jim Rob forgot to program FreepMail with the:

IF (newbie) AND (Spam Detected) AND (receipients more than 5000)

THEN (ban poster forever) !!! With Extreme Prejudice!!!

It is understandable that Ol' Jim Rob might have a minor oversight now and then like that. But nobody perfect (though Jim Robinson is somebody I wish I could have been).

However, someone in Freeper Land asked if Sargeant Joe Friday might take on the investigation.

The money bags left by the poster seem to point to Hillary da Queen Clinton as well as Howard da Mouth Dean. Also there are reporters/editors of various newspapers/magazines seen fleeing the country to get further instructions from people in Russia, China, Iran, Syria, and, of course, from Mr. Chavez down South.

Da Ones headed for Cuba don't know if the corpse of Fidel can be revived for this one or not.

So handles like MD4BUSH and IM4FRED have taught us a lesson. Trust long lasting relationships on this site, and don't allow a single FREEP MAIL to jerk your chain.

If someone does that to you, then think of a way to get back at the enemies of this country -- both within and without.

That would be folks in Hollywood, aka people behind movies like Lions for Lambs, a certain church in Kansas with ties to Al Gore, etc.

So lets have some fun over this attempt to disrupt FREEREPUBLIC.

And maybe some of you out there might have ideas how to fix holes so NEWBIES cannot disrupt FREEREPUBLIC...

God Bless!

God Bless and Protect our Troops!

God Bless America!

And God bless and protect Jim Robinson, and the Freerepublic family!

The Christmas and Thanksgiving seasons are coming upon us.

Maybe we should put some gifts under Hillary's tree as well as Howard Dean's.

Maybe we should be thankful that we fight the good fight, and the nutcases seem to be in groups like Code Pink and MoveOn.Org

Let us start spreading some good Holiday Cheer!

Maybe you have some thoughts/barbs for this one.

I suspect someone was trying to disrupt Freerepublic with the im4fred thing.

Did you see anything of this poster before the Freep Mail?

I don't remember any posts...

For the MD4Bush saga, the poster/impersonator used the following: 2oth century

I cannot type that way -- using a lower case 'o' instead of zero ('0'). It is the style of a newspaper reporter.

Sure wish I could look at some Freerepublic logs and IP Addresses used (as well as other Internet traceback information)...

I think it was someone outside both the Thompson and Hunter camps.

That's up to the powers that be. I'd be surprised if they hadn't.

They do look at and analyze IP logs.

I got zotted once because an ex-GF was a troll on here. She logged in from my PC a few times before I even started posting here.

A short while after I created this account I got zotted just because we had the same IP address. JimRob let me back in eventually.

As I said, it would surprise me if they didn’t. And I’d be surprised if they didn’t have filters in place to block IP addresses or newbies signing up from previously zotted IP addresses. (By zotted, I don’t mean someone suspended).

One Freeper who I was acquainted with once (1st Freedom) kept getting banned. He/she kept coming back with different handles.

He kept coming back trying this and that to trick Jim Rob and company.

My only Breaking News post was about Chuck Grassley being senior to Arlen Spector on the Judiciary Committee and could have had the chairmanship. This was actually a vanity post on Freerepublic, but I did have a source for this.

It turns out, at that time, we were working at the same company, but from different cubicles. Jim Rob and company figured that out.

But I did not realize who 1st Freedom was... Later we found out we both liked going on to Freerepublic.

I am not sure what he did, but he/she was pro-lifer that ignored too many rules and put pro-life above everything else.

I consider that, given the tough job of being an admin to this site, they do a great job.

I imagine close to election time, it will be time for some quality Freepers and Lurkers to give payback for what im4fred did...

Well, as far as payback goes, count me out. One reason I joined FR going on two years ago was because it seemed a community that was above wallowing in the same cesspool as its opponents. If that makes me a less quality FReeper, then so be it.

I got the im4fred PM.

Of course I just deleted it without reading.

I’m a fast clicker for sending e-mails and PMs to the trash can.

Apparently Pissant was considered a newbie for his posting of The GOP's Flip-Flopping Four

I don’t think Jim Rob had a minor oversight with the newbies and freepmail. He included a Delete Button for unwanted freepmail.

Mine works fine :)

How would you know? Were you privy to some inside information about Pissant that no one knows?

Are you referring to something like this Freeper Mail I received.

Last Warning
From Im4Fred | 11/15/2007 4:18:54 PM CST read

hello, this is a friendly reminder that you have not yet contributed to FRed’s campaign this month.

Please take the time to do so now:

https://www.fred08.com/contribute.aspx?RefererID=c637caaa-315c-4b4c-9967-08d864cd0791

And remember, we are coming down the final stretch and we must all rally behind FRed. Now is the time to say NO to RINOS like Duncan Hunter and Mitt Romney. Any show of support to these socialists is now expressly prohibited on FR and transgressors will be banned. Just ask Pissant:

Did that article get Pissant banned or suspended for a while?

We have seen that happen to a few of the RP supporters for the incessant spamming in threads.

While we all have a lot of passion for our respective support of candidates lets not forget the basis of our participation here on FreeRepublic. We are conservatives, and to varying degree as any political organization, we are also human. Mistakes are made, things said in haste are hurtful, prideful, and not worthy of the integrity of what we are supposed to represent. We are human, and prone to making mistakes.

I posted a thread earlier this year, before the purge of the Rudy supporters, about not forgetting common ground and beliefs. Every election brings out the best, and the worst, in people you would likely have a few cold ones with or over for dinner. They would be someone who you would be proud to call 'friend'. This does not mean the things they say are completely wrong. It just means their passions are unbridled, and that needs to be in your own thoughts as you respond.

Am I guilty of this? Of course, and over the period of the last few weeks, I have noticed a few things. One, I look back at some of my earlier postings and realize what an A$$ I looked like. Two, some of the responses to others, who I have disparaged, in totally unrelated threads, have taken those insults to heart and now find me unworthy of consideration for advice or suggestion on self defense.

And that is what I have done to myself.

After realizing this, I have vowed to not harangue, argue or insult when the discussion is politically based. I have lost the respect of some Freepers here that I value as to opinion and observations, and for that I apologize profusely.

We are all conservatives, and we MUST remember that, while we find qualities in our candidates and ourselves WE think are worthy, let us not forget that the qualities other people see in us determine our value to them.
