This week, Pew Research introduced an interesting poll that shows Latino voters shifting away from gains the GOP made in 2006. Could it be because of the rhetoric about immigration reform? President George Bush benefited from gains in 2000 and 2004 and recognized it as a crucial voting bloc.

It’s not because of rhetoric; it’s because more and more poor (many of whom are illegal) Mexicans, Guatamalans, etc., are coming here. They are not going to vote Republican, because many of them are socialists, due to socialist parties, movements, etc., they are familiar with in their own countries.

Note the makeup of the sample: 2,003 Hispanics, of whom 843 are registered voters. This poll is meaningless. At least they should poll the registered voters.

It should be noted and remembered that a majority of Hispanic voters voted for Arizona’s Proposition 200. And over 40% of California Hispanic voters voted for the much-maligned Proposition 187.

They were fooling themselves. They never had it in the first place.

I’m sorry .. you can’t lose something you never had.

Dems can deliver goodies to illegals .. and they influence relatives who are here legally and can vote.

Also, many more Latinos say the policies of the Bush Administration have been harmful to Latinos than say they have been helpful.

If he had kissed their asses any harder his lips would have peeled off.

They made significant gains in ‘00, ‘04, and ‘06...isn’t it about winning?

Maybe so, that's probably why they're in no big hurry to send these folks packing back to Latin America.

Well .. I work for a very, very Republican company .. and we DON’T WANT THEIR LABOR.

It’s the dems who want the cheap labor.

And .. in the field where I work - we CANNOT EMPLOY ILLEGALS - we are required to have them fingerprinted to work for us. If there’s any doubt about the SS number, we are not allowed to hire them.

Yeah, it costs us over $80 for this required service - and that’s why the companies don’t want to do it - they don’t want to spend the money.

Wrong grasshopper. ALL ILLEGALS will be allowed to vote, thus the difference of 1200 or so there is the illegal vote.

Bush kissed their asses for the past seven years. Never again. I'm sick of the pandering.
