I don’t even like his haircut. I think the slicked back look went out about 1993.
I will vote for Mitt if I’m STUCK with him.
But how can any conservative not see that Fred is by far the best candidate (viable, no offense, Duncan).
Fred will never have to spend months explaining why so many of his positions have changed with regards to so many things.
A vote for POTUS should to be based on shared philosophy, not executive experience or a nice haircut.
I can’t believe they rated Paul excellent.. this is the guy that voted over and over against securing the border and said The US should not have a national immigration policy and “should welcome everyone who wants to work..”
You have got to be kidding. How many issues do you have to see Romney on Video arguing passionately for the liberal position before you wake up and smell the coffee.
He supported the McCain Amnesty, Abortion, Homosexual rights, gun control, and trashed Regan.
This reminds me of those callers that call into Rush and say, “I’m a conservative and I almost always agree with you but.....”
Somehow, I doubt this author has ever considered voting for anybody other than the pro-amnesty, pro-abortion, pro-gun control, anti Regan Romney.
“A month ago, I was a Rudy guy.”
“Im here, on this site and in the political arena, to defend that great legacy of conservatism, which began in earnest with Burkean traditionalism, and which has, for the past 25 years, found its home in the Republican Party. And I think that, flawed though he is, Mitt Romney best advances this agenda.”
Boy, this guy is a real right winger.
Yeah, I am sure he will remain pro-life and agains the homosexual agenda as president ..... that is unless he needs some votes from the northeast during the general to win! This guy cannot find a moral compass on simple matters of right and wrong.
If Mitt's a horse, and wins the nomination, and the Hildabeast makes a comeback, we could have a choice between a horse and a horse's *ss.
I agree about Romney. I actually like Huckabee first, Thompson second, but will not be happy with Romney. He would get maybe 45 % in a general election as he alienates both social conservatives and Reagan Democrats.
Good for you! I Like intelligent people. Romney, certainly is one, and so are you for your thoughtful endorsement. Now if we could just get other members of our party to stop making inane and knee-jerk remarks about Romney, then we just might be able to save the Republican coalition.
For liberals yes....for conservatives and those who value integrity, he sucks like a black hole.
You have that half right: Romney the RINO doesn't even come close to being a conservative.
In the debate, Fred had it right on education when he picked the NEA as America's #1 education problem...
The American people will vote for the most likeable personality. It is the LIKEABILITY factor that ultimately will elect the next POTUS. Since the advent of television as a powerful force in exposing the personalities of the candidates it has been the personally more likeable that has been elected unless one of the candidates was successfully painted as far, far left like McGovern or Far Far right like Goldwater.
Year More Likeable Less Likeable
2004 Bush Kerry
2000 Bush Gore
1996 Clinton Dole
1992 Clinton Bush
1988 Bush Dukakis
1984 Reagan Mondale
1980 Reagan Carter
1976 Carter Ford
1972 McGovern (Far Left) Nixon
1968 Humphrey Painted Far Left) Nixon
1964 Neither candidate likeable Johnson/Goldwater
and Goldwater was painted far right
1960 Kennedy Nixon
Huckabee is clearly the most personally likeable & engaging.
Romney is next but anti-Mormon prejudice may be too string.
Thompson is next but appears too old and detached.
Tancredo is friendly but one issued and appears unqualified.
Guilani is at best friendly not very warm.
Hunter is stern and cold.
McCain irascible and cranky.
Ron Paul is unlikeable and appears crazy.
Alan Keyes is unlikeable and appears crazy.
Matt “Mitt” Miller lost serious attention at the beginning of his testimonial when he said that three weeks ago he was supporting McCain. It kind of brands things written in his piece as ringing “RINO RINO RINO.”
Matty didn’t find a horse; He’s got a hold of a chameleon Rino.
At least Guiliani has shown past leadership in cutting crime and taxes. Romney is too damn politically correct, timid; and he’s running ads to counter those accurate perceptions. Thomson’s stand out remark regarding the Global warming scam at the last debate certainly puts him in a better light.
Thompson also nailed it when he flat-out named the NEA as America’s #1 education problem...
Didn’t Slick Willard also throw his old buddy Larry Craig under the bus during Craig’s recent travails?
