Ron Paul for President 2008 (A Romney Supporter for Ron Paul!)

No%20McCain.jpg

Contrary to conventional conservative wisdom, not every Romney supporter is willing to "gulp" and vote for McCain. I am not going to vote for John McCain. Not even Mitt could bring himself to endorse McCain during his CPAC speech. And it seems folly to me to have a person as commander in chief who feels comfortable fighting on in the middle east, yet has no interest in securing our borders and deporting those who break our laws by living in America illegally.

John McCain has some troubling personality traits. And I cannot in good conscience vote for him.

Ron_Paul_Photo_.jpg

I LOVE Ron Paul. I have followed his career for years and have been so grateful for his clairty on CODEX and CAFTA and the attempts by pharmacuetical companies to take over the world.

His strict constitutionalist stance is troubling to those of us who have felt comfortable with the Neo Con position on the war in Iraq. Yet in principle, he is completely right that the constitution gives strict rules regarding engagement in wars in foreign lands.

I don't regret that our military has been put to such use these past five years. I believe we have been engaged in a noble endeavor to help free the people of Iraq from a dangerous dictator.

I was proud to watch Sadaam hang, and thrilled with every election in Iraq. I continue to marvel at the wisdom of our military leaders, and I KNOW that the surge has been a complete and utter success.

But with our economy stumbling right now I have to wonder about our ability to continue to nation build in Iraq.

Did our Revolutionary Founders expect the French Soldiers who came to fight alongside the patriots during the war to stay and help them with the many, many issues that were hammered out during our first hundreds years of freedom in America? All we have to do is look at those first few decades of American History to understand that Freedom is a difficult thing to maintain and preserve for the next generation.

What sort of a role do we have to play in the middle east? I agree with Dr. Paul that our role should be primarily to set a good example for the other nations of the world. And I believe strongly that we should set our own house in order and then set a good example of sound constitutional adherence and reverence before we go telling other countries how to preserve their own constitutions and liberties.

I will be voting for Dr. Paul as a delegate in the Boulder Colorado County Election, and I will vote for Dr. Paul in the fall election.

I object to your picture of McCain as benedict arnold. The debasing of political discourse is a major cause of strife and inability to govern effectively.

Benedict Arnold knew he was selling out the United States. I see no evidence that McCain intends to do that, no matter what you think about the results of his actions.

Ron Paul is a wacko and a phony. He packs federal budgets with pork for his district, then votes against the conference bill so he can claim he is a defender of less government spending.

A total krepola artist.

I was thinking Napoleon, but benedict arnold fits. McCain has been a traitor to conservatism for many years. Anyone want to photo shop a McCain photo on Arnolds body???

Ah, to make hyperbolic statements off the cuff.

He packs federal budgets with pork for his district, then votes against the conference bill so he can claim he is a defender of less government spending.

Still more fiscally conservative than the other 434 Congresscritters.

A total krepola artist.

Yep, he's just stringing them troofers and white supremacists for the ride.

I will be voting for Dr. Paul as a delegate in the Boulder Colorado County Election, and I will vote for Dr. Paul in the fall election.

You may be voting for Paul in the Boulder CO Cty Election but you’ll not be voting for Paul as the Republican nominee in the fall election. You may vote for Paul then but it will be as a write in or some obscure 3rd party venture.

Let’s bring a little reality into this situation and use a little something as basic as math..... you know 1 + 1 = 2.

Paul currently has 21 delegates in his campaign to secure the GOP nomination. To win the nomination one needs 1191 delegates..... There are 1274 delegates left to be determined. Paul needs 1170 of them or 92%.

That means Paul can’t afford to lose even his home state of TX which has 170 delegates. Paul won’t win TX not even come close. In addition Paul has to shut down McCain and Huckabee and not let them divide in any combination 104 delegates among themselves.

Paul can’t win.......... Math trumps the heart in this case. Sorry.

That’s his problem? He thought he was in it for a ride not the win.... I gotcha....

Keyes may give him a race for the longetivy title. Hell Keyes didn’t drop out in 2000 until June or something like that. If he hangs in there he and Keyes may split a few anti McCain votes/delegates......

Despite the fact that Dr. Paul has the highest rating of all Congressman by the National Taxpayers Union (84%) I can not support him for POTUS because I don't agree with his foreign policy and he does the job that his local constituents elected him to by bringing back a legal ridiculous amount of Gubmint money to his voters.

"Paul can’t win.......... Math trumps the heart in this case. Sorry."

Don't be sorry. I was happy to be a Romney supporter, gave him everything I had on my blog.

I can't vote for McCain, and I won't vote for a dem.

Except for his stance on the war, Dr. Paul articulates just about every single political position I hold sacred, it is an honor to be for him and cast a vote in his favor.

I know it is not about winning at this point.

Conservatives are stuck. But with Romney out, I at least have a legitimate, albeit longshot, choice in who is president. And that makes me happy.

I believe strongly that the Freedom Movement Dr. Paul has rolling is going to continue for a long time to come....

It is either this or European Socialism, and as Ferris Said ...

"Ferris: I do have a test today. that wasn't bull***. It's on European socialism. I mean, really, what's the point? I'm not European. I don't plan on being European. So who cares if they're socialists? They could be fascist anarchists. It still doesn't change the fact that I don't own a car. Not that I condone fascism, or any -ism for that matter. -Ism's in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in The Beatles, I just believe in me." Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. I'd still have to bum rides off people."

So, if the American People decide they want Old European Socialism, and I feel like doing is Shrugging and voting with my heart...

Who is Ron Paul?

Paul is a tax saving phony. He gets the “rating” because he votes against the final bill, but he inserts more “earmarks” than any other Texas congressman before he does.

65 last year, including

$231,000 for the Planning and Urban Research Association’s Urban Center;

$129,000 for the “perfect Christmas tree project;”

$300,000 for the On Location Entertainment Industry Craft Technician Training Project;

$150,000 for the Aquarium; and

$500,000 for the National Mule and Packers Museum

$3 million to test imported shrimp for antibiotics.

$8 million for the marketing of wild American shrimp.

$2.3 million for shrimp fishing research.

(Shrimp fishing is big in his district)

$4.5 million to study the effects of the health risks of vanadium.

$1.18 million for Personalized Medicine in Asthma

$10 million to repair the Galveston railways causeway bridge.

And millions to reopen a movie theater that closed 20 year ago.

Now, help me understand, how does the Constitution allow for these pork projects?

Like I said, a complete phony.

“btw Franco was not a fascist,”

My apologies to the good soldier. I wondered if the person who photoshopped Ron Pauls face into the generals body meant it as a compliment.

Ah well.....for those of you who are objectivists out there, my question “Who is Ron Paul?” was a play on the Who is John Galt of Atlas Shrugged. But I guess you didn’t really need me to point that out.

These next few years may just be a time of the capitalists shrugging a little while the people dilly dally with a deeper level of socialism.

Most of my circle of friends and many of the young people I know under the age of thirty think socialism is the cats meow, and cannot figure out why I am so decidedly against it.

If Obama and Socialism are what America wants, well...have at it.

I will keep my political principles and ideals dear in my heart while America learns the difficult political lessons that history makes so evidently clear are riddled with pit falls and briars, and I plan to use the next few months to rail against socialism with everything I’ve got on my blog.

Will it make a difference?

Don’t know, don’t care....it is what I have to do.

“The world you desired can be won, it exists, it is real, it is possible, it’s yours. But to win it requires total dedication and a total break with the world of your past, with the doctrine that man is sacrificial animal who exists for the pleasure of others. Fight for the value of your person. Fight for the virtue of your pride. Fight for the essence, which is man, for his sovereign rational mind. Fight with the radiant certainty and the absolute rectitude of knowing that yours is the morality of life and yours is the battle for any achievement, any value, any grandeur, any goodness, any joy that has ever existed on this earth.”

John Galt quote that ended AR’s last public speech

I’m voting for Ron Paul also, I like you feel that voting is a place where I must be true to my core beliefs. I know that he will not win, I also know that his name will appear on the November ballot as a third party candidate if at all. I cannot force myself to vote for McCain. I find his legislative record, personal demeanor and constant reliance on his military record to curry favor deeply troubling. I could vote for the Democrat and if I think my vote is needed to defeat McCain may well do so. I would prefer to have an enemy in the White House that everyone recognizes as such then someone who I feel is equally dangerous but is not perceived by many who share my views in the same way. I hope that you do not feel that your vote is wasted. I feel that if I vote and can sleep with myself that night then I will have done my Civic duty and I will have done all that I can do to advance the things that I believe in.

Full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. Thank you for illustrating what our government schools have produced, someone full of outrage and vitriol but unable to reason, use logic, or persuade others to join his cause. But thank you for your opinion. Sometimes the only reason for a person's existence is to serve as a bad example to others.
