McCain tried to Eliminate Gun Shows

The National Rifle Association reports on the gun control bill that Senator John McCain introduced with liberal Democrats Joe Lieberman and Jack Reed.

---------------

Introduced, appropriately enough, on Halloween, the McCain-Reed-DeWine-Lieberman gun show bill masquerades as reform but imposes bureaucratic restrictions aimed at eliminating gun shows. The legislation is based on the McCain-Lieberman bill (S. 890) from the 107th Congress, and, similarly, not only fails to address gun owners` most significant concerns, but also fails to address any issues within the National Instant Check System (NICS).

McCain-Reed is not about closing a "gun show loophole"—there is no "gun show loophole." Existing laws apply at gun shows just the same as any other place guns are sold. McCain-Reed is, in fact, about eliminating gun shows. [emphasis added] It would give any future Second Amendment-hating Attorney General the power to effectively shut down gun shows, invade the privacy rights of American citizens, and impose many other restrictions that have nothing to do with conducting background checks on firearms purchases.

The legislation also seeks to impose a whole host of additional restrictions and unnecessary requirements, including gun owner registration and limitless regulations! Perhaps most importantly, the legislation ignores the fact that multiple federal government studies prove gun shows are not a source of "crime guns." No matter how creative the packaging, this bill isn`t about controlling crime. The attack on gun shows makes no sense as a crime control measure. It is strictly driven by an anti-gun political agenda. Closing gun shows means shutting down one of the most important venues for Second Amendment activists to communicate with other gun owners. That`s their real goal. View NRA-ILA`s Fact Sheet on the McCain-Reed Gun Show Bill here

Not just the NRA. Anyone who really cares about America, should identify this treasonous service academy flunky for what he is—an enemy of the American Republic.

John is his own God. The sooner everyone knows that, the better off we’ll be.

People just fail to realize the changes that are coming to this country once a president like McCain, Hillary or Osama gets into office. People think they are going to start getting lots and lots of free stuff and money for nothing. What they fail to understand is all those things and "stuff" they are going to lose.

McCain or one of the two Marxist's, with the assistance of a dominate numbered Marxist's controlled congress are going to start their massive changing of laws. Anything that is written in the Constitution, will be changed by them making up a bunch of laws to circumvent the Constitution. People are blind and stupid to what they are going to lose and blinded by what they think they are going to get free. The surprise will be too late.

People who think, oh we can vote them out in 2012 are going to be surprised also. I fully expect them to start playing with election laws also. Like doing away with the Electoral College and going strictly on popular vote. I fully expect Hillary and her Marxist Congress to go wild the first year making new laws and taking away freedom and your money. If you think it is not going to happen, by all means vote for McCain. He will do the same damned thing. McCain is not a republican. No one who flirts becoming a dimocrat as much as he does, and has his record, is a republican. Then again, I guess I am thinking of the old republican party. The leadership has now decided that to defeat the Marxist Dimocrats, you have to out liberal and out socialize them. Bush has started the republican party down that road full steam. He was as much responsible for destroying conservatives in the republican party as anyone. I hold him responsible. He is a failure in my opinion. A total failure.

He might, this was in 2003 and the NRA has a short memory, at least where Republicans are concerned.

I’ll NEVER vote for this anti-RKBA open borders traitor Benedict Arnold McCain, even if the lying weasel puts an “R” after his name.

Better a genuine ‘rat “honest” liberal, to unite conservative congress against, than a back-stabbing lying traitor who pretends to be a conservative when it suits him.
