PIEDMONT, Mo. President Bush Wednesday evening declared a major disaster in Missouri and ordered Federal aid to supplement state and local recovery efforts in areaa struck by severe storms and flooding.
Residents of low-lying towns stacked sandbags or grabbed belongings and evacuated the region after a foot of rain pushed rivers and creeks out of their banks in the nation's midsection. At least 13 deaths had been linked to the weather, and three people were missing.

Sump pump still working here. All I need it to do is make it through this flood. I have a new one Im going to replace it with, but I procrastinated and no Im relying on a 30 year old pump. Water level in well is about 3/4 full, or about 2 and 1/2 feet. (There is no float guage to activate the pump, it broke off. So I have to keep checking it every hour to see if needs to be turned on).
The Meramec will see record flooding, and Im wondering about the spring fed Current River. I havent seen or heard anything about that area. Stay tuned..

We are expecting 4-7 inches of global warming up here in S.E. Mi.
I went through the floods of 1993 in St. Charles Mo. and that was a pain in the rear end. I had a Civil Air Patrol Squadron back then. We would take our Cadets to the Emergency Operations Center in St. Charles City [Mo.] with one my Sr. Staff & the rest of us would go out on sandbagging ops & or Search & Rescue Operations. That made for long days of work....

Yes, snow across the upper plains to New England. The problem we have here in North STL County, isnt the rivers, its the ground saturation..

I think they have opened Lock and Dam 27, which is on the Mississippi, but the worst river flooding is from the Meramec which enters the Big Muddy south of the lock. I dont understand river dynamics enough to know what the CoE will be doing. I do know its very high, both the Missouri and the Mississippi. So, it will be an interesting week..

Bush IS a natural disaster — a SUPERnatural disaster, actually, since one of the way God punishes His people is by giving them rotten, corrupt, immoral leaders.

Anybody know if there are sites similar to "FR", sites where Christians/conservatives can post, discuss? Thank you. - from another thread John Lofton, Editor, TheAmericanView.com
Stinking up the place on your way out, NotChosen? I think you would be more comfortable at DU where the posters suffer from BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) like you .

As you can see, John, the kitties are gathering. FR is a conservative site, not Republican. However, blaming Pres. Bush for everything wrong is incorrect. Seems like you believe floods and other natural disasters are God's punishment. If you do not survive the zot, you could try Libertypost.org, Though I think you would have trouble there, also.

You’re probably right. Telling folks what God says not very popular today — especially among many calling themselves “Christians” — one more reason we’re under God’s wrath. It’s all in The Book....

Bush IS a natural disaster a SUPERnatural disaster, actually, since one of the way God punishes His people is by giving them rotten, corrupt, immoral leaders.
Care to give some examples of our CIC's rottenness, corruption or immorality?

Vanity: Oh, No! Obama Pastor Says Something Which Makes Sense!!
...I can tell you that you are majorly mistaken if you think you're speaking for the Almighty. You, sir, are an excuse-maker for people who see bathing stockbrokers and secretaries in burning jet fuel as the Almighty's work. And you have come here to FR, where we lost two of our own to those satanic barbarians, to make excuses for the murderers of our friends.
You sir, speak for Hell.

We certainly committed terrorism and murder when we dropped two atomic bombs on open cities in Japan. Hmmm...all you need to do in order to think that is ignore history, and be a raging hypocrite. First, the history, which can be excused because even old fools like John (no fool like an old fool!) may not have been properly educated in WWII history by their screw-alls:
History here.
Then there's the hypocrisy, which can be forgiven (we're all sinners saved by grace, even people like John who carry Al Qaida's water) but not excused. So, let me get this straight: We deserved 9/11 because we killed thousands of Japanese and got involved in fights in the Middle East, but Japan didn't deserve Hiroshima and Nagasaki after starting a war that killed tens of millions of innocent people, many of them civilians dying at the hands of the Japanese military for the crime of not being Japanese?
That's great logic...if you think God wants you to hate America and support pagan murderers.

Pimping a blog is fine, I do it too. However, pimping your blog on FR reqquires being a part of the FR community, which means suporting America and participating in discussions rather than posting and running to try and generate traffic.
