Bill O'Reilly Softball Interview Whith Hillary
Foxnews | 04/30/2008 | Soliton

Posted on 04/30/2008 6:01:07 PM PDT by Soliton

Bill's interview with Hillary tonight was a lovefest. She was all pretty in pink.

He either doesn't know the Clinton record, or he is 100% into Operation Chaos. This may be the most positive video experience of Hillary's life.

One example of a missed opportunity was when she told Bill that she would raise his taxes as a "rich guy" (over $250k) so she could lower it for "hardworking middleclass" prople. Bill apparently doesn't know that this is one of Bill Clinton's famous broken campaign promises. Bill Clinon's quote on why he did't make the cut,"I work as hard on this as I ever have on anything in my life". If her husband lied about it, why should we bekieve her?

bill o’reilly, pat buchanan, rush limbaugh, john mccain, hilary clinton, bill clinton, et al

don’t like barak obama.

if obama were white would he be attacked like this?

mccain’s got his reverend john hagee who’s anti-catholic and an anti-semite. but there’s no uproar.

so, what’s new?

A better, and more germane question is: If Obama had been vetted by the media to this point, would he have made it to this point to be attacked?

I am not sure Obama has not been vetted by the media. Many in the media will attack anyone to the right of Stalin. The fact that Obama’s past is open to anyone who can use Google means that the lack of media attacks are very telling, for Obama and for the Media. They can easily be pegged in the information age.

he was presented to the public by oprah.

actually, the media knows a lot about the clintons do-do’s

but it’s only obama’s that have come to the fore lately.

part of that is the clinton-media people, and part of it

is that the clinton stuff is old hat.

i was reading the united church of christ chicago stuff on the internet at least a year ago or longer.

I wonder if the interview was a strategy to draw in the bigger fish: Obama. I am sure O’Reilly will do a job on Obama. There has been bad blood for the Obama campaign ever since O’Reilly engaged in the shoving episode with an Obama staffer who purposely blocked his camera man at a New Hampshire rally. It was after the shoving episode that O’Reilly asked Obama to appear on his show. The humiliation that O’Reilly suffered from the shoving episode, has left its marks. Then later, having to apologize for the “lynching party” remark concerning Obama’s wife, was one more chink in O’Reilly’s case against Obama.

I would load up on popcorn if Obama does do an interview.

What I liked was that she said she was going to raise taxes on everyone making over $250,000. and reduce taxes on the middle class. Bill blinked and went onto the next subject. Bill Clinton made the exact same tax promise in 1992 and ended up raising taxes on the middle class.

http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpage.html?res=9F0CE4D9103CF93BA25751C0A965958260&scp=2&sq=clinton+middle+class+tax+cut&st=nyt

“The first challenge in selling Mr. Clinton’s plan to raise taxes on the middle class would seem to be overcoming the voluble history of his many specific promises to the contrary.
As candidate, Mr. Clinton promised to offer tax relief to families with incomes of less than $80,000 a year. He said he would raise taxes on only “the wealthiest 2 percent,” those with incomes above $200,000 a year, and impose a surtax of 10 percent on those with annual incomes of more than $1 million.
He said that over four years he would squeeze an additional $45 billion out of foreign corporations doing business in the United States. He dismissed as an outrageous falsehood the Republican assertions that his spending programs would mean additional taxes on families making as little as $30,000 a year.
Now, Mr. Clinton proposes to increase income taxes to 36 percent from 31 percent on couples who have taxable income of more than $140,00 a year and on unmarried individuals with taxable income of more than $115,000.
And the “millionaire’s surtax” would be imposed on households with taxable income of more than $250,000 a year. As tax experts predicted, the amount expected to be gained from foreign corporations will be only a few billion dollars. And virtually every family making less than $30,000 a year would not bear the costs of the higher taxes. ‘He Never Said It’
In interviews on Tuesday, James Carville and Paul Begala, Mr. Clinton’s chief political advisers, outlined what would be the central arguments against accusations of political betrayal.
“The first defense is that he never said it,” Mr. Carville said. “Clinton never made a George Bush-style read-my-lips pledge. He said that that would be irresponsible to do.”
Further, Mr. Begala and Mr. Greenberg said their polls and focus group sessions showed that voters accepted the argument that Mr. Clinton had promised only that he would not raise taxes on the middle class to pay for the new Government programs he would propose. They said the research also showed that voters believed Mr. Clinton when he said he had been forced to reluctantly accept middle-class tax increases when he found out, after the election, that the budget deficit was worse than he had thought.”

“if obama were white would he be attacked like this?”

If he had spent twenty years as a member of a white supremacist church, led by a pastor who spewed hate towards black people and the American government, wrote a book based on the teachings of that pastor, baptised his children there, and proceeded to let slip little bon mots which alluded to the same white supremacist attitude that his pastor was master of, then you betcha. Probably worse.

I don’t think he was soft on her at all. He asked some tough ones.

How about “You do know Hillcare will destroy the American economy, don’t you?”

Or when he told her the program of high taxes she advocated was really socialism. That bugged her out a little.

He also told her part of the energy crisis lies at her door, as when Bill was in the white house they did nothing for energy.

He pressed her pretty hard, amid a few smiles. Yes, he’s in the tank on oil prices (it’s those EVIL oil corporations) but I thought he did pretty good. He was nice, but she was the first lady, and he certainly pressed her harder than anyone on CBS would.

Of course, he also gave her a hard time about not coming on Fox before now.

I have come to great shame. I must apologize before I make my statement. I have...'disliked' Ms.Clinton since before her husband, the bent one, was elected in 1992. I have held more than contempt for her since I watched her ego and hubris occupy the white house. I have posted, Lord knows, my disdain for the woman. I have railed against her. I have called her as ugly a name as I could think of, limited only by my concern that my children my someday read my musings. This woman Clinton, I have categorized as one of the worst people, even evil, for lo, these many years.

Having said that, she came off looking reasoned and human....even, dare I say,....'likable'. Now before I get flamed, know this. I have already had 1 entervention by my brother. My wife and daughter have upbraided me for purulent generosity and gullability. I am shamed, in all of its forms. Still, Ms. Clinton was not exhibiting her horns. I am sure she had pure diazepam running thru her veins in order to tame that streak of palpable hate which I know is her mainstay. I am sure her campaign manager has used-up many pummice stones to take off her rough edge. Even her voice was tempered, not schrill as I have always known her.

Yes, I am now awake. It must have been a dream....no, a nightmare. A nice Ms. Clinton....impossible. I am....I must have been mistaken. Yes, yes, I was mistaken. I was wrong to have such thoughts. I, I, I,.....I............................................

I’ve been watching Hillary when she campaigned all over my state of PA. She did three events in one day, and she was dynamic, energetic, and happy. Democrats here LOVE her. In comparison, McCain has no energy.

I personally know democrats who are voting for her. She is extremely popular here. Everytime I see McCain on TV, he sounds like he needs a nap.

Somehow she’ll manage to steal the nomination from Obama, and if that happens, she’ll take McCain down.

My cable/phone rang and may have interrupted/deleted my comment before I posted it!

O’Reilly has to get her back again even after tomorrow’s 2nd half with Hillary

39% income tax rate Hillary sez

Starting at what income level?

If Slick Willie was smart he would volunteer to go on with Sean Hannity on FNC and play it mucho frio and thank FNC for giving Hillary a tough but fair interview while the other networks are chewing her up

Clinton could have done that in the 90s - I’m not sure he could keep himself calm and friendly and not do a rerun of his appearance on FNC with Chris Wallace

Take 3 Valiums and smile Slick!

The Klintoons & John Kerry & John Edwards have always been the subject of many of my subtle parody graphics - but only FNC will even give them a shot at exposing and derailing the closet Muzzie jerk Barack Hussy O’Bomber Jr.

Wearing a USMC T-shirt playing basketball for TV cameras in NC -

I guess Wright gave it to Obama

Dennis Miller is good at political comments

The Kennedys use the same “trust” and “foundation” tax-free scams as Wright does

Many politicians have “foundations” set up to shelter assets and gain use material things or pass them down to avoid estate taxes

Sean Hannity has a Boston Rev. Rivers on who is right on the money on Wright

I disagree. I think Bill went at her hard, guns firing.

And I think Hillary did the better of Bill without even having to sound mean or rude. Sure, she sounded “tough”, but that is different from mean or rude.

I got to say, like I already said, she did the better. And I think this is ONLY GOING TO HELP HER.

She’s going to win over even more undecided Dems in Indiana as a result. And it wasn’t because Bill went “soft ball” on her. No way - those saying so are only kidding themselves because, the fact is, Hillary did real well in the venue.

I think she’s going to take Obama down, now.

I think this interview on FOX helped her. She can go on and take it now, it can really happen now.

Pretty in pink? That’s right - but “pretty” isn’t the word. She looked and sounded like a CEO president of a major corporation. And her “word smiting” was something that doesn’t come from a dumb ass no way. She’s isn’t a dumb ass in no manner.

Bill did a great job, too. Even though she won this one.

This kept bugging me so I had to find sources for what I was talking about. I knew I heard what I said.

CLINTON HIPOCRACY

Hillary praised Ronald Reagan and decisions he made in the early '80's on the O'Reilly interview Wednesday night. I have not found a full transcript yet.;

LINK

But it was a different story when she blasted Obama for similar comments;

{The Hillary campaign clearly made a decision to go all out on Obama's Reagan comments today. Hillary herself just lit into Obama over them in Las Vegas, according to a transcript provided by her campaign:

"I have to say, you know, my leading opponent the other day said that he thought the Republicans had better ideas than Democrats the last ten to fifteen years. That's not the way I remember the last ten to fifteen years."}

Then Bill Clinton joined in;

Clinton then accused Obama of calling conservative darling Reagan a better president than Clinton.

"[Obama] said President Reagan was the engine of innovation and did more, had a more lasting impact on America than I did," Clinton said. "And then the next day he said, 'In the '90s the good ideas came out from the Republicans".

WHAT OBAMA SAID;

" I think Ronald Reagan changed the trajectory of America in a way that Richard Nixon did not and in a way that Bill Clinton did not. He put us on a fundamentally different path because the country was ready for it. "
