Condi flares at Israel: ‘Get it done already!’
Cross Action News ^ | 5-9-08 | Stan Goodenough

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, appearing increasingly desperate to see an Israeli-Palestinian Arab agreement signed before her president leaves office at the end of the year, reportedly used less than diplomatic language speaking to a reporter last Monday.

Both sides “need to draw a map [showing their agreed-upon borders of Israel and “Palestine”] and get it done,” she said tersely, according to a report in The Jerusalem Post Friday.

I got their map right here...

In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates: The Kenites, and the Kenizzites, and the Kadmonites, And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims, And the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.

A rushed deal is a very bad deal. With Israeli leader Olmert under much pressure for being a crook, he may screw Israel and give in to every demand by the Palestinians and the US.

As long as it makes her & 'her president' look good as the ones who got Israel to cave on this....it doesn't matter what happens to Israell!! It's all about the legacy of GW & Rice.

They will soon be gone & Israel can go to H***.

“With Israeli leader Olmert under much pressure for being a crook, he may screw Israel and give in to every demand by the Palestinians and the US.”

Could be, I hope not. However, it was Olmert’s intention soon after he was elected (if not before) to create a Palestinian nation to “once and for all” (HA!) settle the problem. I know in one of the articles I have somewhere it said something like how he faces resistance from many Israelis and also the United States. Obviously he has won over the White House.

And Lebanon is the one country in the Middle East that isn’t overrun with Jew haters and has a sizable population of Christians. I read a story yesterday about violence in Lebanon and it was pointed out that the violence was isolated to Sunni and Shiite areas while Christian neighborhoods were quiet. I think there should be an increasing intolerance for Muslim violence and the response to it should overwhelming. It is ridiculous and the modern world needs to unite against it rather than playing games with them and accepting their ignorant justifications for it.

Everyone else in the park wants peace, the Christians, the Jews, and other ethnic and religious groups coexist without major issues. I think it is time to fix this problem once and for all and destory any Muslims that will not accept peace. There is no other solution. Diplomacy has failed and more innocents die while the piggish Muslim hoards rant, rave, and kill with abandon while demanding to be compensated and tailored to over every minor offense of their precious prophet. Well damn the prophet to hell if what he represents is the cult of death that begs young men and women to walk into markets and blow themselves to bits in hopes to get into heaven.

There is no place on earth for that kind of religion.

CONDI WANTS HER PHOTO OP TOO DAMN THEM!

Edited on Sun Feb-24-08 02:12 PM by JackRiddler
The KLA-UCK was listed as a terrorist organization by the State Department as late as 1998! What a reversal followed. A mafioso group of ethnic supremacists dealing heroin, with ties to the radical Islamist mujahedeen (and backing from the German intelligence BND) overnight became America's heroic proxy (with even bigger backing from the CIA). The Yugoslav attempt to put down an insurgency was styled into genocide. When Milosevic agreed to stand down during the 1998 crisis, this proxy violated the terms by moving into the province vacated by Serb forces under General Clark's cover. So the Serb forces moved back in.

The next year at the Rambouillet talks, Milosevic was given an ultimatum to allow NATO occupation not just of Kosovo but of all of Yugoslavia, with a clause freeing the prospective foreign occupiers from any liability for their actions. It boiled down to, Let us occupy you or we will bomb you. Those unwilling within NATO were railroaded into the action by U.S./Germany/UK, fearing the alternative of a NATO break-up. NATO violated its own treaty terms with an out-of-area offensive action.

The multiethnic refugees from the subsequent NATO bombing of Kosovo (1/3 of whom fled into Serbia) and of all Serbia were "disappeared" by the Western media, who falsely claimed hundreds of thousands of Albanian males had been killed, on the basis of zero evidence. (Ultimately 2,000 dead civilians and fighters of all ethnic groups were found in the province due to the fighting and bombing. Several refugee trains and many residences were hit by NATO bombs.) CNN headquarters accepted a team of CIA "interns" who "helped" with the reportage during the bombing. Scahill neglects to mention that the deadly "oops" bombing of the Chinese Embassy in Belgrade came two days after China launched an initiative for an immediate ceasefire and peace negotiations. If that looks like a U.S. answer to the unwanted meddling of the Chinese, then I guess it's just bad luck in the timing for the bombers, eh?

At the end of hostilities, Gen. Clark almost ordered an attack on a unit of Russian paratroopers who had moved into the Pristina airport, in the words of UK Gen. Michael Jackson (who successfully resisted the order) almost starting World War Three.

Here's the commanders' victory photo:

Left to Right: Hashim Thaci, UCK (KLA) leader; Bernard Kouchner, UN Administrator of Kosovo; Gen. Sir Michael Jackson, KFOR Commander; Agim Ceku, Commander of KPC; Gen. Wesley Clark, NATO Commander.

High volume. Articles on Israel can also be found by clicking on the Topic or Keyword Israel, WOT

..................

Desperate is the word, failure does that, and we've failed diplomatically in the region.

Just as a reminder, the Israeli cabinet accepted the Road Map only with the inclusion of 14 preconditions. No, that wasn’t an expression of trust in the US as a neutral observer, but it’s how they accepted it. And that’s the agreement as it stands.

It’s really not necessary to proceed beyond the first, but I’ll post the first 2. My bold.

1. Both at the commencement of and during the process, and as a condition to its continuance. calm will be maintained. The Palestinians will dismantle the existing security organizations and implement security reforms during the course of which new organizations will be formed and act to combat terror, violence and incitement (incitement must cease immediately and the Palestinian Authority must educate for peace). These organizations will engage in genuine prevention of terror and violence through arrests, interrogations, prevention and the enforcement of the legal groundwork for investigations, prosecution and punishment. In the first phase of the plan and as a condition for progress to the second phase, the Palestinians will complete the dismantling of terrorist organizations (Hamas. Islamic Jihad. the Popular Front, the Democratic Front Al-Aqsa Brigades and other apparatuses) and their infrastructure, collection of all illegal weapons and their transfer to a third party for the sake of being removed from the area and destroyed., cessation of weapons smuggling and weapons production inside the Palestinian Authority, activation of the full prevention apparatus and cessation of incitement. There will be no progress to the second phase without the fulfillment of all above-mentioned conditions relating to the war against terror. The security plans to be implemented are the Tenet and Zinni plans. [As in the other mutual frameworks. the Roadmap will not state that Israel must cease violence and incitement against the Palestinians].

2. Full performance will be a condition for progress between phases and for progress within phases. The first condition for progress will be the complete cessation of terror, violence and incitement. Progress between phases will come only following the full implementation of the preceding phase. Attention will be paid not to timelines, but to performance benchmarks (timelines will serve only as reference points).

And these preconditions apply to Gaza as well as the West Bank. I’d suggest the Palestinians haven’t taken even a baby step. Time to spend our diplomatic effort and treasure elsewhere.

Perhaps Iraq, see if we can get any of our dear Arab allies to recognize the government there.

Probably too late, but maybe we can shift the palestinians arms and training to Lebanon, help them defend themselves from the terrorists who never disarmed despite a decades old agreement to which the US was party.

I agree. I think that it if is true that Hizbullah has captured Lebanon - and that appears to be the case as of this afternoon at least in Beirut - something has got to be done and it’s not even optional anymore.

I said on another post that this could be like the assassination of the Archduke Ferdinand. Not where we expected it to happen, nor even what we expected to happen. But if the news reports are true and Hizbullah dominates Leb now, then everything is changed. Condi can’t ignore that any longer.

It’s Bush. He wants a “legacy” of peace, to remember him by. As opposed to bungling Iraq and his financial insanity.

I’m all for pushing the parties to an agreement, but the Pallie parliament is dominated by Hamas. Even Clinton didn’t have to face that when his legacy plan failed.

It is horrible. Lebanon is a probably the most Pro-West country in the region even though it has been under the thumb of Syria. This is just unconscionable to me. If we can’t help our friends then what in the hell are we doing in Iraq? I’m just tired of it. The time for walking on pins and needles is over. It is time to destory Hizbullah and all organizations like it. I’m tired of standing by while hateful Muslims maim and kill. What is this talk about dialog? They are shooting and killing and conducting all out war and we want to talk to Hizbullah? Yes let us talk, arrange a meeting and kill them all. That is the way to talk to them.

If reports are correct Parliament has been forced from the city, leadership is under seige, and the Lebanese Army refuses to act. Hizbollah may have themselves a defacto state, and if they do Christian neighborhoods, and they're a minority now, won't be quite for long.

As to intervening, who? The UN troops won't lift a finger, it's not their charge. The US is a party to the agreement requiring the militias to disarm. Christians did, Muslims didn't. We've cause to act, but we won't in any effective way. Israel won't, nor should they at this point. There may not be a pleasant ending.

Clinton faced the same thing in Arafat. The difference is that the Bush administration is willing to push for a 100% palestinian deal, all they've asked for, while requiring nothing in the realm of compliance. The "peace process", imo a farce under the road map, was dead when Hamas took over Gaza. A minority government in control of only 60% of their population can't legitimately negotiate anything.
