Audio of the Keith Olbermann Special Comment segment on MSNBC Countdown this evening - 05/14/08. Rant against George Bush over the "no more golf" announcemnt the President made today. In the audio Keith calls W pretty much every name in the book and ends it with "shut the hell up". Regardless of your feelingins about the war, keep in mind MSNBC is a news organization....they just came out of the liberal closet.

Just?
Good point.
Look, before we get our panties in a wad...Olbermann is not a journalist...nor is Rush. And if you were to be honest, Rush is as hard on the left, as Keith is on the right.
I’m no Olbermann fan by any means and don’t even take a second to watch him...but let’s not get overboard on this stuff or the Fairness people will be all over us.
Point: Olbermann is not a journalist. He is an opinionist (he opines). He is an entertainer.
Rush is not a journalist. He is an opinionist (he opines). He is an entertainer.
Rush is just 20 times better and gets paid accordingly. Olbermann gets paid accordingly (and hint, hint...it ain’t nearly, hardly, like Rush’s compensation).
Keith Olbermann as he likes to call so many people is the worst person in the world almost every day. I can’t stand him. Good thing about him being on TV is that I can turn him off.
Rush is really not comparable to Olberman. However much he may clown around, he speaks seriously to his audience and reveals himself to them. Blame the medium, but there is nothing of this in Olberman. He is pure performance.
I watched it this evening. The Olberman rant. He is a sleeze. Was going to say more but I am so disgusted by the complete lack of any decency being shown to our President.
Where are the men to stand up for W.
Never mention Rush in the same breath.
You summed him up very well!
“Look, before we get our panties in a wad...Olbermann is not a journalist...nor is Rush. And if you were to be honest, Rush is as hard on the left, as Keith is on the right.”
Well, Rush radio. The audio they’re talking about here is from Keith O’s tv show. As a rule, talk radio is more audacious and free-wheeling than primetime talk tv. Radio is pretty clear-cut, while many talk tv shows are presented in a quasi-journalistic format.
Unlike libs who refuse to watch or check out (even once!) any of these shows they’ve “heard” oppose their own views, I (and many other conservatives) watch them all - on cnn, msnbc, fnc and hnn (glenn beck). My best argument to libs & indies I know is simply this - ONLY FNC and Glenn Beck consistently have people of 2 (or more) sides on every night, equally represented, to talk about issues. I never see this on keith o, chrissie matthews or the cnn crowd. So, while Bill, Sean and Beck are “just pundits”, they’re a damned sight fairer than those “legitimate journalists” who dominate the network news nightly, spinning it all to their decidely leftist slant, clad in an air of factual objectivity.
“The Olberman rant.”
To say the least. I once forced myself to watch KO for the full hour, in fairness to a dear friend of mine who watched him (and whom I’ve been trying to persuade to watch hannity, o’reilly or glenn beck). My friend was talking about this “feud” between keith o and bill o, saying that KO blasts BO nightly. I told him that bill o NEVER mentions ko on his show - but of course, he wouldn’t know that unless he tuned in :-))

Heh, Heh, Tiger woods, you're the best.

I don't play golf, you "chau·vin·is·tic Whore-Dog-pig"
You are very wrong. Olbercreep is extremely mean-spirited and hateful. The same is not true of Rush. Rush is making fun and having fun. Olbercreep is not. He is a mean and evil little creep.
This surprises you? The idea of a balanced, unbiased news organization is ridiculous. It doesn't exist.
Yeah, but he never said he gave it up to show support for the troops and their families. That one comment has to be about the dumbest remark President Bush has ever uttered.
then you haven’t seen Olbermann sitting at the returns desk with Chris Matthews on NBC’s election night coverage (Nov ‘06), not as a pundit, but as the reporter? You haven’t seen BOR and Hannity in similar roles on FNC, but you still want to set up the kind of equivalence you describe?
Didn’t say Rush and Olbermann had the same approach. I said that Rush was as hard on the left as Olbermann was on the right.
And you’re right, Olbermann is mean and creepy.
Sorry...Olbermann is not a reporter nor a journalist.
I realize that between writing columns, hosting talk shows, reporting, analyzing, and commenting, the lines get blurred, but under no circumstances can Olbermann be called a journalist...he wasn’t a journalist even when he was doing sports.
I’m not saying that because I don’t like him. I saying that because he ain’t one.
Of course they are not comparable in content...just in what they do.
Laura Ingraham is playing this clip and talking about this right now on her radio show - and she is ROYALLY ticked.
What part is ticking her off?
Olberman calling our troops "cold blooded killers" to do Bush's bidding.
Nope. That's why I wrote "just?" .....meaning, it's been obvious they've been about of the "liberal closet" for quite some time. Since its inception.
“Where are the men to stand up for W.”
Of them all, Sean is probably the only one. I like several of the others on air, too, but I give SH extra credit for one thing - in this age of everyone eschewing party labels, rather claiming liberal or conservative, he actually has the guts to say that he’s (also) a Republican.
“Was going to say more but I am so disgusted by the complete lack of any decency being shown to our President.”
Re: W - I saw something on cspan in the wee hours that was heartwarming but also heartwrending. He and Laura were seated among a very large gathering for the 60th anniversary of Israel. Pres. Perez spoke, welcoming W, then Prime Minister Olmert. Olmert was effusive, warm and sincere in his praise and gratitude, at length, for W, calling him a most “unusual friend, unusual ally and unusual supporter” of Israel. For a brief moment the camera caught Laura and W in the audience during this, and W was quickly brushing a tear from his eye. It made me teary, too - to think of what constant negativity, hatred and relentless blasting he takes on daily basis HERE, then to receive such sincere praise and gratitude THERE - I think he was a bit overcome by that, and so was I.
Olberman calling our troops “cold blooded killers” to do Bush’s bidding.

Saw the rant, he never said that.
read it for yourself in’t in the first paragraph in below text link “cold blooded killers”
I’m sure he was touched by that. I have never in my life seen a President treated with such utter disdain. It is
dispicable.
He did NOT call the troops that....
I don’t care for him, he’s vitriolic, obtuse and bombastic, but he always has supported the troops. Always.
He has a problem with Bush, but so do I, so for me,that’s a wash.
here is the direct quote by Olbermann: “Mr. Bush, at long last, has it not dawned on you that the America you have now created, includes “cold-blooded killers who will kill people to achieve their political objectives?”
As far as I am aware Bush is the Commander and chief of only one army. If there is a secret army that I am unaware of that he was talking about, I would like to see the link and learn more about them.
