Sensing that the time may be ripe for a pompous Hollywood blowhard to enter congress, Actor Alec Baldwin, best known for his buffoonish antics on Saturday Night Live and 30 Rock, says he is seriously thinking about running for political office.
Ive always had an interest in politics, Baldwin said. It was when I did an SNL sketch parodying Barney Frank, that I thoughtif a lisping pansy like him can get elected to congress, why not me?
Baldwin was undaunted by the potential negative effect on his prospects of a widely circulated voice-mail message in which he called his daughter a thoughtless little pig. Most voters are parents, Baldwin said. I think they know where Im coming from on this issue. My bratty daughter doesnt appreciate how lucky she is. She couldve been aborted. Im the one whos being put upon here.

Too bad he wasn't aborted if he can say things like that about his own child. I am a parent & certainly don't understand or know where he is coming from... What a jerk.

Badmouthing your own daughter is one thing, but Barney Frank? Now that’s series.

I mean — I am no Alec Baldwin fan — but I would have to hear him say this on tape — about aborting his daughter — before I’ll believe it.
It’s just not possible (someone please tell me it’s not possible).

I don’t have a clue. I wouldn’t make anything up, its all there on the link. He is the pig not his child, no wonder she doesn’t want to see him. He will fit right into politics with his looks & his attitude! Shame on him for being such a rotten parent.

No I looked again & he didn’t say that..However its true about him calling his child a pig. It was all over the news shows awhile back. I have heard it said before he would like to get into politics on TV but can’t source it. I will go look for one.

And at 50, he says he still hasn't given up his childhood dream of a role in politics. "There's no age limit on running for office, to a degree. Something I might do, one day," Baldwin says. Its long to read but he explains why he called his daughter a pig & that he is writing a book ...I can't wait ...NOT!

I fervently wish that Harrison Ford had done ‘Hunt for Red Oktober’. I would have no qualms about watching the re-runs ...
Is is not this Baldwin that said he would leave the USA if Bush was elected? Why is he still here then; is he not a man of his word? ... Oh right, he is a Democrat. A democrat’s promise is not binding ...

Satire...but Baldwin is eminently capable of saying things this stupid at any time.
To: John Semmens
If a conservative had said “lisping pansy” the hypocritical outrage would be all over the news channels. Baldwin hates conservatives, so he gets away with it.
To: John Semmens
Remember the pompous, overblown, smarmy, dislikeable, lying character he played in "Cat in the Hat"? The secret?
It wasn't acting.

Bing they killed them (graphically) all at the end, seems like skating close to something, but not being a lawyer I don’t know what.

Yes — and I wouldn’t have believed a man like him with so much to lose in the public eye would speak to his little girl that way - if I hadn’t heard it with my own ears. I’ve heard his excuses and reasons for why he spoke to her that way. It is sickening.
There are some words spoken to the human soul that can echo in our mind like a broken record, for our entire lives. We can assume that Mr. Baldwin has spoken MANY words like this to his daughter that have never been recorded on tape. Frankly, having a father like THAT is worse than having no father at all.
