Does Barack Have an Uncle and Did He Liberate Auschwitz?
The Virginian ^ | 5/27/2008 | Moneyrunner

Posted on 05/28/2008 2:41:43 AM PDT by moneyrunner

Well, no.

But it makes a good story, and is designed to appeal to Jews.

His mother was an only child, so Obama has no American uncles. His uncles on his father’s side (the ones from Kenya), if they participated in WW2, did not go to Europe.

...

So what we appear to have is something that’s commonly known as “resume inflation.” And that’s what you get when you have a man who has no real experience. When what you have is an empty suit who is trying to pretend that there is substance there.

But what was the point of the fable? The point was really to try to connect with the American people by telling them how callous the government is about the emotional problems of its soldiers. The “uncle” is supposed to have spent six months in the attic, having experienced the sights he encountered in the liberation of Ohrdruf, an experience that may have lasted less than three hours.

The punch line is that Obama will make sure that America’s fighting men and will get all the mental care they deserve.

That’s it. That’s the punch line. That’s the reason for the fable. That’s what American fighting men are good for: a story line for a health care pitch. And the combat vet is cast in the eternal role that the Liberals have created for him: the crazy uncle in the attic.

Just wait until Barack discovers another uncle whose wartime experiences drove him to drink and living in the street when he isn’t shooting up a beer hall on Saturday nights.

While too many Jews are liberal Dem voters, even the dumbest knows that the stuff Obama is babbling about Auschwitz and his family is total rubbish.

So much for the Harvard education.. this idiot believes that the U.S. Freed the prisoners at auschwitz.... and then to lie about it .... every Jew that had a relative killed at auschwitz should be outraged that a poltician would attempt to use their grief as leverage in a campaign... this is disgusting.... just like a typical.... Obama...

They say that it was a family story, that the uncle was a great uncle whom Obama called uncle, and that he participated in the liberation of a subcamp of Buchenwald, not Auchscwitz. Worse than misspelling potato, but not a big deal.

It was his “great-uncle” at Buchenwald... Candy Crowly reported with a chuckle last night on CNN. Just a simple error... fluffed up by those nasty, right-wing blogs.

This clown intends to be POTUS and to inherit the most powerful position in this planet.

This matters.

He is a BUFFOON and an arrant LIAR, a willfully PERJURED INDIVIDUAL who will say anything to anybody to get what he wants. Just like HillBilly does.

He has no business anywhere near the Oval Office, except as a tourist. And even then he ought to be frisked thoroughly then waterboarded first, just in case he is carrying any IEDs or has any aspirations of martyrdom.

Lucius,

Yes, just a few little errors ... but the punch line was not so much about his “uncle's” wartime exploits but his mental problems. He was using his uncle to make the claim that America does not care about its veterans. He made his “uncle” the crazy vet in the attic.

Well, if the linked article is correct, then what "they say" is still a lie because his uncle didn't have any hand in liberating an extermination camp at all but a labor camp called Ohrdruf, which a PLATOON from the 89th Division held for all of 3 HOURS until the infantry took over. Assuming that his "uncle" happened to be in that very platoon, and horrible as it undoubtedly was, it would hardly have been enough to send him to the attic for six months unless he had serious mental problems to begin with.

In other words, lies from beginning to end.

To quote the article -

The punch line is that Obama will make sure that America’s fighting men and will get all the mental care they deserve.

That’s it. That’s the punch line. That’s the reason for the fable. That’s what American fighting men are good for: a story line for a health care pitch. And the combat vet is cast in the eternal role that the Liberals have created for him: the crazy uncle in the attic.

American soldiers did free Dachau and Matthausen, but not Auschwitz. That was the Red Army's privilege.

The “crazy vet” in the attic.

If true... another gaffe on Obama's part. The correct diagnosis for his “uncles” behavior would have been... PTSD. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Then again... maybe Barry thinks that every soldier returning home from war is a nut-case.

It wasn't his uncle (old version).
It was his great uncle (new version).

Maybe it really wasn't a blood relative/uncle, but more like The Rev Wright, whom he considered an uncle.

[It is curious that Obama manages to pull relatives — from his mother's side, the white side — out from under the bus, when he needs them, usually to on issues related to war, military service, patriotism.]

My dad practically lived in the attic after the war.....'cause that's where his short wave set was.

He had turned it into his own little space.

Many people were living in so called attics after the war. Families lived with families and many houses were small back then....typical 1 1/2 story "wartime" houses.

Didn't Obama once say, as an attempt to explain him away, that Rev. Wright was "like a crazy uncle you keep in the attic"?

Hmmm . . .

Barack is wrong when he implies men returning from WWII did not get psychological help.

The question is...did his uncle free liberate them under sniper fire?

I have a friend whose grandfather did ‘stay in the attic’ for some time after those in the camps were freed. But he was not among those doing the liberating; rather, he was one of the Jews who had experienced the great tragedy of the Holocaust. His story certainly needs no embellishment or enhancement. Take your mockup history elsewhere, Obama!

To Leftists like Obama, anyone who chooses to go into the military is a nut-case. Lefties loathe the military...unless, of course, it suites their purposes.....

I think this part is even worse than the lie, because screening every soldier would make them unable to bear arms given the new mental health restrictions that were passed after Virginia Tech.

How convienient to deny them all that right, especially when one is plotting a "revolutionary change" for America.
