Democratic Underground Calls for Citizen's Arrests of Political Opponents
Moonbattery ^

Posted on 06/06/2008 7:24:49 AM PDT by mnehrling

Remember the recent farce when the Guardian's George Monbiot made a spectacle of himself by pretending he was going to subject John Bolton to a citizen's arrest for being a "war criminal"? If the kooks at Democratic Underground have their way, we'll be subjected to more tasteless entertainment along the same lines.

DUmmies are advised not to announce they're coming before pouncing on their quarry, and to refer to convictbushcheney.org for information as to when suitable victims might show up in their towns.

There follows a long list of "war criminals," along with their alleged crimes, mostly having to do with being mean to terrorist murderers or the genocidal dictator Saddam Hussein. Some are household names like Condoleezza Rice and Colin Powell, but others are relatively obscure lawyers whom moonbats feel should be intimidated as punishment for offering legal counsel to conservatives.

Cue the Mission Impossible music. Your mission, moonbats, should you choose to accept it:

Form a team. We need teams in California, Texas, New York, and Washington, D.C., among other places. Your mission is to locate a war criminal from the list above in a public place, detain them, handcuff them, phone the police, read the criminal their rights and the charges against them, ask them if they have anything to say in response, videotape the arrest and post it online. Your team should include one or more people who can produce an excellent video and be extremely fast in editing and posting it online. Your team should include people capable of physically detaining your war criminal. Your team should ideally include a lawyer. And, of course, people who can read the charges and question the suspect. Everyone on your team should be able to keep a secret while you're planning your arrest.

Some verbiage lifted from Wikipedia is posted in a preemptive attempt to ward off charges of kidnapping, assault, false imprisonment, etc.

These clowns certainly provide some laughs with their adolescent fantasies of handcuffing those who don't share their wacky views. But they would be a lot less funny if the government were run by fellow moonbats, who through benign neglect or active nurturing might develop them into the brownshirts of our liberal fascist future.

Stop right there moonbat boy! I find you in Texas then you will have delivered upon you one of the finest Texas ass whippings of your life. Or perhaps all I have to do is come up to you and say "BOO!" and proceed to watch you wet your pants!

Hey, I got an idea. Let’s all go over there and turn ourselves in. Wanna bet we couldn’t find anybody willing to “arrest” us?

And they will, if they get power, put “counter-revolutionaries” “to the wall”.

In Texas, this will get you shot.

Everywhere else, this will get you sent to the federal pen for kidnapping charges.

They even think about touching our Texas women then they are dumber that we thought. But I doubt those little mommie's basement boys will even leave the house. Most of the liberal males are genetically one step away from being female anyways.

I love moonbat planning. Step 4 includes the arresting and handcuffing the "warcriminals". However they don't get around to aquiring and learning to use handcuffs until step 7.

5. Consult a lawyer to avoid unnecessary risks of violating laws while enforcing the law.

LOL, only talk to a lawyer after you make your ‘arrest’. This is probably because when you explain to a lawyer your idea he will laugh at you and mock you incessantly.

You know, I went back and read the article again and caught a bit that was laugh-out-loud funny, at least in my opinion....

Everyone on your team should be able to keep a secret while you're planning your arrest.

Geez, are these people adults or 10-year-olds? "And then, after our BIG POLITICAL STATEMENT, we'll all go back to our secret-boys-only fort behind Danny's house. His Mom made cookies!"

Dunno what scares me more...that these people vote, that others actually listen to them, or that they drive on the same roads as I do.

Those phuckwits at DU have developed a grand plan for reducing their life expectancy substantially.

First, they have to find a spine and the ‘nads to actually initiate such foolishness.

Second, they’ll need some superior running shoes when the inevitable armed conservative starts filling their asses full o’ LEAD!

Third, hope they’ve filled out their legal wills.

This is nothing but another example of liberal-left mental masturbation based on childish fantasies.

Actually- unlawful restraint. A citizen's arrest can not use force to detain, detention is voluntary. Handcuffing is a no-no. Non-law enforcement does not need to Mirandize, either. These self righteous idiots are going to get their clocks cleaned ,snicker...

I don’t mean to sound paranoid, but something tells me that a big storm is coming. I know every election everybody says THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION WE EVER HAD, after a while you roll your eyes. But, in this case, I truly believe this is the case. I keep telling myself that we have checks and balances to keep bad things from happening, but I dont even trust that anymore. I just feel a terrible pall coming over this country.

I felt the same way about a couple of years before 911.

I’ve actually looked into the concept of citizen’s arrest here in Pennsylvania. If a citizen personally witnesses the commission of a felony he or she may restrain the perpetrator from leaving until the authorities arrive (and must contact the authorities immediately if such contact hasn’t already been made). No reading of rights, handcuffing, or other moonbat orgiastic fantasies. But if you didn’t actually see the felony being committed, count on being arrested for assault at the very least.

Well, I am not a lawyer. However, the way I see it is if a person or persons are trying to unlawfully retrain me, and they are not legal authority (police, military, etc), then I am viewing it as an assault, so yea, I will defend myself using any and all means available, with the idea of breaking off the "attack". If they do no break off, and there are multiple assailants, I would have to probably resort ,quickly, to deadly force (ie: 1911 .45). Remember, I would not be aware of their plan to call police and video tape it,etc. so I would at the time have to assume what was happening was a criminal act. Moreover, if my wife and daughter were present, my response would probably be more violent quicker to protect them as well. I don't say this lightly, but nobody messes with my family.
I read the comments on their website, and most posters are calling them idiots, too! I hope their targets hire discreet body guards that will give them a good beating!

I know what you mean about protecting the family. I was in a situation not too far back where a carload of folks (not particularly threatening) pulled up behind us on an onramp (we were stopped to let the toddler go pee).

When I noticed a guy getting out, I was out of the car and in his face before even _I_ knew what was happening.

They just wanted to ask directions, BTW.
