In Barack Hussein Obama's version of the Constitution it says that you can have guns for "...the purposes of hunting and target shooting."

Strangely enough, that's not the version I own.

It’s in the new “living” version of the Constitution.

Barack Obama believes the Second Amendment creates an individual right, and he greatly respects the constitutional rights of Americans to bear arms. He will protect the rights of hunters and other law-abiding Americans to purchase, own, transport, and use guns for the purposes of hunting and target shooting.

I am too disabled to hunt and/or target practicing so that is not why I own a gun and do not intend to give it up either. I guess wussie boy dosen't know any other reason to have one. Since he is reputed to have made really good grades in school, he must be what my Dad always called an "educated fool", book smart, but not enough common sense to come in out of the rain.

The Constitution hanging on my wall says otherwise; it has no pulse. If Obama wants my guns, he can send someone here to get them. But I have been practicing my shooting lately, and the Second Am is sacrosanct. Meaning, step foot my on property uninvited and unannounced for the purpose of violating the Constitution, and said retriever will be given a crash course in what the Second is all about..

Federalist #28 (Hamilton) - excerpt
If the representatives of the people betray their constituents, there is then no resource left but in the exertion of that original right of self-defense which is paramount to all positive forms of government, and which against the usurpations of the national rulers, may be exerted with infinitely better prospect of success than against those of the rulers of an individual state. In a single state, if the persons intrusted with supreme power become usurpers, the different parcels, subdivisions, or districts of which it consists, having no distinct government in each, can take no regular measures for defense. The citizens must rush tumultuously to arms, without concert, without system, without resource; except in their courage and despair. The usurpers, clothed with the forms of legal authority, can too often crush the opposition in embryo. The smaller the extent of the territory, the more difficult will it be for the people to form a regular or systematic plan of opposition, and the more easy will it be to defeat their early efforts. Intelligence can be more speedily obtained of their preparations and movements, and the military force in the possession of the usurpers can be more rapidly directed against the part where the opposition has begun. In this situation there must be a peculiar coincidence of circumstances to insure success to the popular resistance.

Sen. Obama also believes the following:

Address Gun Violence in Cities: As president, Barack Obama would repeal the Tiahrt Amendment, which restricts the ability of local law enforcement to access important gun trace information, and give police officers across the nation the tools they need to solve gun crimes and fight the illegal arms trade. Obama also favors commonsense measures that respect the Second Amendment rights of gun owners, while keeping guns away from children and from criminals who shouldn't have them. He supports closing the gun show loophole and making guns in this country childproof. He also supports making the expired federal Assault Weapons Ban permanent, as such weapons belong on foreign battlefields and not on our streets.

And this too:

Obama Supported A Package Of Legislation That Would Limit Handgun Sales To One A Month. ''The package closes the Firearm Owners Identification (FOID) card loopholes which resulted in the shooting out in Melrose Park. We're eliminating 17 specific assault weapons. There is no reason why anybody should need an assault weapon to protect themselves or their family,' Obama said. 'We're limiting handgun sales to one a month. 'We're calling for handgun registration. It's very hard right now to track whether or not a felon has turned in his weapons or if he has a FOID card because we don't know how many weapons he has purchased.'"

So much for his support of the 2nd Amendment -- in any form! He's just full of BS, like most liberals.

After tomorrow or perhaps a week from tomorrow it may not matter what Mr. Hussein thinks or wants to enact.

Target shooting? Is specific about what the targets can be? As far as I’m concerned, anyone who threatens me or mine is a target.

He may be right, depending on who the targets are.

Obama should also address the issue of guns for self-defence instead of hiding behind his approval of hunters and sportsman. If he were consistent, he could advocate the restriction of guns for this purpose (e.g., locked storage, rendering them useless in the home, or carry restrictions), while combining it with what I call the "Singapore Solution" for criminal gun use. (In Singapore, gun is pretty much a capital offense). Since that would lead to disproportionate prosecution of the protected disadvantaged classes, its a non-starter.

Those seeking to upset an existing order and impose a privileged directing class often ally, explicitly or implicitly, with the criminal element. Disarming the populace while not disarming criminals is part of the package. Think Communists or Nazi Germany for examples.

Note that I haven't even addressed the less common, but more extreme Second Amendment contingencies of militia and last resort governmental resistance envisioned by the Founding Fathers. They didn't seem to talk much about the right to self-defense against criminals or forest beasts. It was such a a self-evident right that they didn't have to. Back to basics, BHO.
