Both are movies involving the weaker as they strive to become stronger. One has a little girl trying to save her island and the other involves an overweight panda trying to save his land.
"Kung Fu Panda" is a Dreamworks animated movie that challenges the imagination and "Nim's Island" is a charmer. Both movies are geared to children but this adult enjoyed them as well.

I saw Nim's Island and thought it was a nice family movie.
As opposed to an underweight panda?
Jack Black was excellent in the movie. The wife and I took the kids this weekend and it was very enjoyable.
The food scene was great.
I certainly hope you enjoyed my reviews but I don’t understand the concern about the panda’s weight.
To keep from spoiling the plot, do you remember what prompted the panda to master Kung Fu?
But I don’t want to fight over a cartoon but I’m just saying.....
Nah, I’m just having fun with word play. Indeed, one would expect a panda to simply be rotund and not svelte. Even the ones into martial arts.
I’ve noticed a lot of movie reviews on FR lately. There was one for Unforgiven yesterday, and one for American Beauty recently too. I’m not a fan of the IMDB message boards (their format is rotten), but there’s chatter about all of the movies there, especially older, well received ones. I’m fine with them on FR, I’m just saying I notices a few more than usual of late here.
