It is a poster design inspired by an art movement called Russian Constructivism. I cut up some images and paste them together to create a stylized revolutionary design and then tied it all together by overlaying some texture to give it a vintage feel.

Not trying to single out this poor soul specifically, but tonight I ran across her blog entry. She took her inspiration for her 'Russian Constructivism' project from this original Lenin propaganda poster.

It's browser dependent, but you can usually go to a Cyrillic website and cut and paste, or just insert the html code for a Unicode character directly. Here's a good reference.
