RUSH LIMBAUGH: A BOMBASTIC BLOWHARD, BUT OUR BOMBASTIC BLOWHARD!
I’ve been listening to Rush, off and on, for some 22 years or so, ever since my bride told me that some guy had been on Sixty Minutes and he said the things I had been saying for years. So, of course, I sent for the transcript to find out who this alter ego of mine was all about. I discovered the bride was right.
I don’t listen for all 3 hours of his syndicated broadcast; some days I don’t listen at all and on others I catch him for just 5 or 10 minutes but, with few exceptions, I usually agree with what he says.
I refuse to subscribe to his Rush 24/7 service, however, primarily because I have enough to do and also because I think he’s an unashamedly greedy SOB. When he hid his severe hearing loss before landing his first hundred million dollar contract back in 2002, ($285,000,000, to be precise), I thought that he had pulled off a gem of deception. Now, cochlear implants in place, he has been rewarded by Clear Channel Communications with a fabulous, new eight year deal for $400,000,000 over the next 8 years.(http://www.theledger.com/article/20080703/ZNYT01/807030570/-1/news36&title=A_Lucrative_Deal_for_Limbaugh)
I congratulate him. I think he’s worth every buck as the premier voice of conservative thought, despite his greed. What I don’t get is why he doesn’t get the point that there must be millions of his loyal 22,000,000 listeners who maybe can’t afford the subscription cost of Rush 24/7: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/today.guest.html.
Charging for those extra internet tidbits in view of the fact it was his loyal fans who made him, probably, a billionaire or close to it by now, is not only unconscionable but it reinforces the leftist drivel of rapacious righties.
I’ll still listen to his show when I can since, as I say, he may be a bombastic–and avaricious–blowhard but he’s Our bombastic, avaricious blowhard and America needs him but the man needs some perspective!
Even those people in Rio Linda know that.

Yep, I just noticed that Mr. DUmmie Lalor has been here only a few weeks.
Whoever this guy is he is obsessed with “greed”. Rush would not be paid one dime if his distributor didn’t think he was worth it, and that they could make money off him despite what they are paying him. I wonder what this dweeb does for a living and why he is so envious of those who are more successful than he is.
Ps. Has this guy ever written a piece on the obscene amounts sports and entertainment figures are paid? I don’t begrudge them the money if they can get it, but I do wonder if they are worth it, though apparently they are to some.
Anyone who wants it can afford the 24/7 subscription rate. It isn’t that much.

Unless you lived in Sacramento from 1986-1988, you haven't been listening to him for 22 years. His national show began in October, 1988 on 54 stations, most of which were under 5000 watts. And Rush wasn't on 60 Minutes until 1995.

Mr. Lalor, you are welcome to call El Rushbo whatever you like. It makes no difference, El Rushbo is primarily an entertainer and the 400 million he recently got, confirms that he is an entertainer, that is the kind of money entertainers are paid. But if you are trying to market yourself as right winger as El Rushbo, I will give you some free advice. Right wing Neanderthals as myself are very prejudiced, we embrace college drop outs like El Rushbo, but we are hestitant to embrace authors like yourself who seem proud of the fact that they can put a PH D after their nom de plume.
