Police sniffer dogs will have to wear bootees when searching the homes of Muslims so as not to cause offence.
Guidelines being drawn up by the Association of Chief Police Officers (Acpo) urge awareness of religious sensitivities when using dogs to search for drugs and explosives. The guidelines, to be published this year, were designed to cover mosques but have been extended to include other buildings.

My favorite German Shepherd is a really good girl who does what she’s told always. She would flatly refuse to wear booties — even for me. I just asked her, and she said:
“No Daddy, that would look silly! I won’t do it and that is flat.”
I guess the police need uniform guidlines when searching muslim homes - for instructions like this even to be needed at all says a lot about the muslims.
I'm having a tough time envisioning a Muslim police dog, even temporarily, with or without booties, lol.

Funny, but can you explain the constant catering to these people? Yeah, I did go into conspiracy theory land a little bit but there has to be some reason that not offending muslims is starting to be a priority.

Since the ACLU gets involved in ridiculous lawsuits and pushes “separation of church and state” to the extreme, this could be a good lawsuit. They should sue on groudns that the police, an arm of the state, can’t be concerned about the religious beliefs or sensitivties of anyone. Thus, by the ACLU’s own reasoning, the police should not be allowed to show this sensitivity to Muslims and the Muslim dislike of dogs.

I get the impression that some here think this is happening in Virginia. If you follow the link, this is a directive from British police , not from a US police force. Hopefully our police will-if the need arises-tell US moslem offenders/suspects to pound sand.
