Pelosi’s stand may put her at odds with a growing number of members of the Democratic Caucus who have been moving toward possible compromises with Republicans on ways to expand domestic energy production actually seen an offshore oil rig and believe them to be real.
A chart shows that gas prices have gone from $2 to $4 per gallon since the Dems took over Congress. She's got a screw loose.

As I’ve said many times, energy development in this country is solely at the whim of the “environmental” (no growth) lobby. No new oil refineries in thirty years, no new nuclear powerplants in thirty years, offshore drilling only where Congress allows you to drill, no drilling in ANWR, no new energy projects on Federal land, etc. Congress needs to declare its independence from these Luddites, but the Democrats are wholly dependent on them for election.
True, but her CA constituents are also delusional, and if she was normal she couldn't be elected from that district. Those people live in an alternate universe where up is down, cold is hot, black is white, etc, etc. In most situations the inmates are not allowed to run the asylum, but that rule doesn't apply in CA.
Someone got it right in a previous post, drilling won't cure the underlying disease, which is the finite amount of oil in the earth, but it will relieve the pain until other energy sources can be developed. I don't know why we're messing around making ethanol from corn and sending food prices through the roof when we know how to make gasoline from coal at $55-$65 per barrel once the conversion plants are up and running. We are the Saudi Arabia and Iran combined of coal, but the tiny ecofreak minority represented by loonies like Pelosi has persuaded Congress not to let us use it.

Great, and they can all go down to defeat together, because they don’t represent the American public. The American public wants the price of gas to go down, and the Democratic Party could care less. It thinks expensive gas is “saving the World”. Truth be told, the Democrats are a collection of charlatans who want you to think they really care about you.

So far, approaching $ 5/gal, she's correct, because we haven't forced them to do the obvious - allow drilling where the oil is.
