Open Letter to Voters of America
The New Media Journal ^ | July 19, 2008 | Lee Ellis

Posted on 07/19/2008 12:27:58 PM PDT by NewMediaJournal

I don’t care whether you are a Republican, Democrat or Independent; all I know is that you are an American in heart and mind, even though, you may be like me, born of mixed heritage from immigrant families who escaped foreign shores to build lives here in this new land. You are still a product of this great melting pot of Americanism. Yes, my skin is olive and I am now an old geezer left over from WWII, where I served in the South Pacific, but sometimes age combined with many life experiences wakes us up, having given us some knowledge of history and civics. With that possibility in mind, let’s look at what is facing us in the future.

Now I also realize that some of you vote the Democrat or Republican ticket because your parents and grandparents always did. This is OK if the particular party has remained the same. But, perhaps it has not. Looking at each party, the Democrat party has been taken over by many Socialists, a few Marxists, and even two or more Islamic members. This new Democrat party even pushed out Joe Lieberman.

The GOP has also suffered. Some RINOS (Republicans in name only) I call them fence-straddlers --- people who can fall either way, left or right --- make up a part of today’s Republican party. Let us not forget that President Ronald Reagan was a staunch Democrat and the head of a strong, now left-leaning union. When asked why he left that party, he said, “I didn’t; it left me!” Thus, we need to look at these two main political parties and see where they currently stand in their philosophy of government.

Just remember, a vote for Obama or a 3rd party vote that helps Obama is like a chicken voting for Col Sanders.

We've heard that before: Nixon, Ford, Bush, Dole, Bush...it's time to stop.

Let us raise a standard to which the wise and the honest can repair. The event is in the hand of God.

"whether you are a Republican, Democrat or Independent; all I know is that you are an American in heart and mind"

That game show sounds that indicates a wrong answer.

Yup!

For those rabid Anti-McCainiacs here in Freepland, here is some math you should be able to understand:

1 vote for Obama (Sissy Boy) + 0 vote for McCain = 1 vote for Obama

1 vote for Obama (Sissy Boy) + 1 vote for McCain = draw.

Do you get it now?

Stop voting for the personality of candidates; choose, instead as your decision-making reason, the philosophy of government that each candidate and his or her major party is proposing. By the same token, don't waste a vote on a minority party, as this can cause the major opposition to win as it did when Perot ran.

Good news! I do not base my vote upon the personality of the candidate, otherwise, I would never have voted for Bob Dole.

Bad news! The philosophy of government held by both major party candidates this year precludes the possibility of gaining my vote.

Instead, I will likely write in so that in case of recount, my intent is clear.

There is no doubt that most of us will hold our noses, ONCE AGAIN, and vote for the lesser of evils.

Just so it's clear ... they both should be tossed out in the trash.

1 vote for McCain + 1 vote for Obama = 2 votes for Liberals who I do not trust.

You'd think the Republican Party would learn from its mistakes with Bush-41:

CATO Policy Analysis No. 147, February 4, 1991
The Profligate President:
A Midterm Review of Bush's Fiscal Policy

Domestic spending is expanding at a faster clip under Bush than it did under other recent presidents typically labeled as big spenders, including Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, and Jimmy Carter. Incredibly, Bush is on the way to being the biggest champion of new domestic spending since Franklin Rosevelt.

No. YOU raise your weak standards to ours. We will not lower our high standards to yours.

We will not vote like sheep for whatever the Republitraitor party puts in front of us.

Voting for a “front runner” because “he can win” is a loser’s mentality.

Drop it.

It’s the fault of all the compromisers, NOT the fault of the idealists.
