WHEN ARE WE GONNA FIGHT BACK? by John W. Cassell
Amazon-Connect Blog of John W. Cassell ^ | 19 July 08 | John W. Cassell

Posted on 07/19/2008 1:19:04 PM PDT by johnwcassell

I read today that Sen. Phil Gramm [R-Tex] resigned under pressure from the McCain campaign because the media was having a field day over his comment that America "had become a nation of whiners".

Once again we have allowed these charlatans of television news and print media to dictate what goes and what doesn't go in a presidential campaign.

I mean it was bad enough that we let them saddle us with two of the three worst candidates in history [hillary clinton was terrible too]. A decent man or woman wouldn't dare subject himself and his family to the type of smears anyone trying to run this country must put up with. Thomas Eagleton was trashed because he had once been hospitalized for a mental breakdown. Gary Hart because he couldn't keep his zipper up. Rudolf Guliani took it in the shorts because he had family friction and as for my favorite...the one man who could really lead this country...Colin Powell....we all know what was waiting for him from these evil scandal mongers...after all he grew up poor and Black on the streets of New York.

Without you media swine we would be looking forward to Colin Powell as our President.

None of the above smears have anything to do with the price of onions. They are utterly irrelevant to the issue of who can govern this country in its hour of need.

Maybe after eight years of obama those of us who are left will finally rise up and pull the plug on these evil "opinion-molders". For the very first time we are actually going to have an incompetent in the White House...possibly even an evil incompetent.

The media charlatans who regularly come into our living rooms disguised as newscasters should be held personally responsible for running these constant scams on the American people, substituting trash and glitz for needed public debate. Keeping the Mob excited...keeping them upset and hostile.

MARK MY WORDS.... whether obama wins or loses there will be days of bloody riots across this country as his Hate Hooligans either show Whitey whose now Boss or protest yet another act of Whitey's discrimination.

How did we lose these potentially good citizens? Why did Bill Cosby have to sadly note "whatever happened to Black is Beautiful"? I ask whatever happened to the cooperation and camaraderie we had in the days we campaigned for civil rights?

I'll tell you: the media just couldn't let go. Racial hatred sells. You sell racial hatred you get lots of air exposure. Looting, death destruction and hate....the media loves it...they thrive on it. Obama's spiritual mentor has for many years ended his sermons with "GOD DAMN AMERICA". One can just hear obama and his charmer of a wife saying "AAAAAAAAAAMEN!"

Thank you, media. You've fixed it so we have at least four years of misery and violence for our People to bear coming up.

I accuse you....

President Roosevelt told us "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself".

You traffic in fear...and you should pay....

I agree 100%. That's why Capitol Hill would be more appropriately named, The National Landfill.

If moderate/liberal Colin Powell, who had trouble deciding if he was a Democrat or Republican, is Cassell’s choice for president, then he’s 180 degrees from me.

McCain has thrown so many under his bus that he will soon start throwing the Democrats under it. That is his secret plan to win.

When are “we” going to fight back?

Wrong.

When is John McCain going to fight back?

When is John McCain going to stand up for the Conservatives who have swallowed their pride and their principles in order to support him?

While I agree that the media drives a lot of crap and that McCain should have stood up to them, I have to give a big PUKE for having Colin Powell, socialist extraordinare, as a presidential candidate. He is just about as far left as McCain is, maybe more so. Lots of people we could have had but I don't want Colin Powell for candidate, thanks anyway.

What is the "we" business? Juan McCain is CEO, Admiral, head honcho, and head monarch of his campaign. Juan AIN'T taking orders from anyone. Gramm left because Juan wanted that way. In fact, on Gramm's way out the door, Juan was heard to bellow, "Advisors, advisors, I don't need no stinkin' advisors."

I concur with the proposition that the ideologically-driven, politically corrupt media have manipulated the generally apathetic and politically ignorant voters but I part company with Mr. Cassell when he portrays Colin Powell as, in effect, being some sort of political Messiah that could have 'saved' America. I saw General Powell as a left-leaning populist, at best, and far from politically conservative. I simply do not share Mr. Cassells' enthusiasm for Colin Powell as a Republican presidential candidate, then or now. I doubt I'm alone.

Still, the media do sway public opinion and many a president has been elected with heavy media support. However, America is still a democracy and the presidency is still in the hands of the people. If they choose to remain uninformed and effectively mesmerized by some unprepared, undistinguished, achievement-free socialist phony like Senator Barack Hussein Obama, it is ultimately their own fault. Unfortunately, if Obama is elected president, we'll all have to live with the sad results of their egregious error.

Too bad John McCain is only a bit less unacceptable to most conservatives. Thanks, GOP. I'm voting for an Independent for president because my state always goes Democrat in the Electoral. My vote won't change that, so why vote for a candidate (McCain) that I don't really like or want and have to wearr an industrial-size clothespin on my nose in order to vote for him? Makes no sense. Cassells' disgust with and animus toward the media is both palpable and justified but we have only ourselves to blame if we allow them to manipulate us. Today, Americans do have alternative media, including this website, and there is simply no reason the 'mainstream' media should wield so much persuasive power in an election.

Frankly, Obama's barely-even poll numbers (with the lackluster McCain) are encouraging as they demonstrate that many would-be voters are unsure and hesitant about Obama, as they certainly should be. That's encouraging. The dinosaur media is steadily losing it's grip on popular opinion and while it hasn't completely dissipated yet, it is weakening. Let's hope that continues...right up to election day and that the endless Obama hype from the media backfires because Americans don't much like being told who to vote for. If they did, we would have never had Presidents Nixon, Reagan, G.H.W. Bush or the current Commander-in-Chief, George W. Bush. Think about it.

"Ask not what your country can do for you, but ask what you can do for your country", is a very polite way of saying the same thing.

The problem is that we have a populace steadily de-evolving into an idiocracy. They cannot recognize anything short of the previous 24 hours info cycle.

In politics, perception is everything. McCain better understand how he is being perceived. All of it so far is chump change compared to what Juan MUST do to get conservative votes.

We demand Juan name conservatives with proven credentials to top positions in his campaign, who are privy to all his campaign strategies.

Juan must lose Hernandez, the Azatlan sucker attached to his campaign.

Juan MUST denounce Reconquista in all print and brodcast media venues NOW.

McCain must denounce La Raza and announce he will STOP all tax-funding of this demented organization.

Even more criical is losing his handlers---the pukeneos who are the cheerleaders for amnesty.

Juan must denounce Mexican demands that the US Attorney suspend deportations of marauding Mexican criminals on US soil.

Juan MUST repudiate foreign governments interferring in American justice that presages the Third World they are building on US soil.

Then we'll talk.

You can say that if you like, but the real hard core truth is...when are WE going to fight back.

The only people we have to blame are ourselves for this mess.

WE turned up our noses and pulled the levers for these people, instead of rejecting them from the beginning.

Now, we all will suffer with the lessor of two evils.

I am sick and tired of reading posts to this board blaming everyone else for our party's condition, corruption, etc. I am angered by the ones who have squawked all along to vote for the republican, even if he is a weak candidate.

Now we complain because there are a bunch of RINO’s in the party...WHO ELECTED THEM!

WELL we have gotten what WE elected to receive.

I am tired of people telling me to swallow my pride and my principals for the good of the party! There is no “good of the party” comrades.

It is the Right of the People to form or dissolve this government of the United States. But before we can do anything we must learn WE are the ones who created its’ present form. WE are responsible for the results.
