DEMOCRATS’ single most important domes tic proposal - universal health insurance - may blow up in Barack Obama’s face when voters are exposed to the deadly details.

Obama has said, proudly and often, “I am going to give health insurance to 47 million Americans who are now without coverage.” But are they “Americans?”

That 47 million statistic includes illegal immigrants - who virtually all lack insurance. In fact, about one in four of those lacking insurance is here illegally. And they are, by far, the group most in need of health insurance.

When a plan is put forth that congress will be signing up for, maybe I’ll look at it.

I have spent 24 + years in the insurance field. I will have to say I do understand and agree with alot of the numbers brought out in the article. But I will also have to say that before we destroy the best health care system in the world we need to explore this. In my day to day working with the public I get numerous rejections on why the person will not/can not buy a policy. Whether it is group or individual. But one of the biggest excuses I receive is I can't afford it. But when you look at the underlying reason you find that it is not that the person can't afford to purchase that policy it is that they do not want to use that amount of money to protect their self/family.

So do we have people who can not afford health insurance, yes we do. Do we have 47 million? NO WE DO NOT!!!!! This gov’t wants everyone to be dependent on it. They continue to spoon feed people who had rather by a jet ski than pay for their own health care or who had rather play the lottery than feed their children properly. Let's put together a way to provide health care for everyone but let's do not destroy what we have just to satisfy greed.
I should not have to pay for your health insurance program just because you will not use your funds to buy what needs to be bought.

If con is the opposite of pro, doesn't that mean that congress is the opposite of progress?

Insurance crisis?

I’m 40, overweight, family history of cancer, live in Seattle and Shanghai. And I pay $104 per month for health insurance.

If that’s too expensive for someone, we can talk. My guess is few consider all the options available.
