More behind the scenes (this time on Senator Obama’s plane!) Check out the email we all received from our FNC colleague Major Garrett. Major is traveling in the Middle east with Senator Obama.
It sounds like the Senator Obama campaign is having some problems with the American press traveling with him?

RUSH: Here's David Rodham Gergen, this is on CNN last night, Anderson Cooper 360. Question: "What do you make of these moves by the Maliki government saying it wants American combat troops out of Iraq by 2010?"
GERGEN: Barack Obama made the first mistake of his trip in releasing a statement in which he said exactly what Maliki had said in those conversations.
We have a long tradition in this country that we only have one president at a time. He's the commander-in-chief and the negotiator-in-chief. I cannot remember a campaign in which a rival seeking the presidency has been in a position of negotiating a war that's underway with another party outside the country. I think he leaves himself open to the charge tonight that he's meddling, that this is not his role, that he can be the critic but he's not the negotiator. We have a president who does that. I think the underlying facts support him, but I think it will be a real mistake and I think it was a mistake to get into these conversations and let it be used politically.
RUSH: There has to be a backlash, folks, on this media coverage of The Messiah. There just has to be a backlash against the Drive-By Media. I was telling Snerdley in our kitchen back there, Mikhail Gorbachev, Lenin, Stalin never got this kind of coverage from their media. And they owned it! And they dictated to it! I mean, this is amazing. McCain gets off the plane in New Hampshire yesterday with one reporter and one cameraman. (cont.)

The utterly astonishing part of all this is at Rasmussen. He is getting NOTHING in the numbers for all this. He is spending money hand over fist and getting nothing in the polls.
If he comes out of Denver with no bounce, we may be delighted to see the most humiliating defeat in history.

I got the same. Received an email from a CPT in Aghan. He was at Bagram when Obama landed. Obama got into a bullet proof car, went past the troops and straight to a Maj Gen for a short briefing. Afterwards, he went to the gym and shot a few hoops. In the hour he was there, he never thanked the troops for serving.
The media is BS ing folks.

Glad I don’t live too close to the city. The DEMS have been reinforcing Identity Politics for so long now and many black Americans will feel ripped off if the “O” doesn’t get elected. This may get very ugly. This may throwback race relations for decades. The audacity of “O”.

In Iraq he met with very few troops, just long enough to get a picture here and there.
I was watching Fox this morning and they had Col. Hunt on and asked him what he thought the troops thought of Obama. Stupid question if you ask me. Anyway, he tried to be diplomatic about it. What did they think he was going to say? Well, they really all think he is an ass and they were ordered to be photographed with him?
Notice in the pictures of him having breakfast with the troops, none have any food. I was told, they can make you show up but they cannot order you to eat.
Words cannot express how horrified I am by Obama.
To: panthermom
Words cannot express how horrified I am by Obama. I am not horrified by him, but at the Republican chances of defeating him. The Republicans ought to revolt against McCain at the convention and nominate someone with one ounce of conservatism and spine.
Obama is a lightweight - a featherweight. But McCain is one of the few people who could lose to him, because he will literally be asleep. He is addled and too old. He will take a nap in the middle of the boxing ring for a ten count, and people will think Obama scored a knockout.
To: panthermom
I saw that, too, with Col. Hunt and even rewinded to see if I was missing something. I did love when Brian said--the audacity of someone telling General Petraeus where to put troops....did he stay in a Holiday Inn last night? How do you come out and tell General Petraeus where to put troops? Col Hunt replied--the audacity of elected officials is pretty well known...the military ought to know better. He then went on to discuss Afghanistan.
I, too, am horrified by the Jerk Messiah...when I am not screaming at the TV every time I see his smug, arrogant face. Not even Mrs. Clinton and Bubba have disgusted me more than this dude.
