The State of Virginia, which does not have the money to build much needed roads is spending a cool million to get kids to walk and bike to school. It's one of the reasons there is never enough money for roads.

A million bucks to promote biking and walking? ... I can save that million and several more, by ending the free bus rides, and selling those buses to more “progressive” school districts.

How about prohibiting bus pickups within a 20 minute walking radius of any school?

Parents don’t like it? Drive the kids to school.
