What job is "Above Your Pay Grade"?

With all this talk about Barack Obama stating that making a decision on abortion is "above my pay grade" (yes, Sir, and being President is "above your pay grade", too!), it got me curious as to what do you consider being "above your pay grade" as far as job or duties are concerned?

Anything I do that is above my pay grade is justification for an increase come review time.

Watched a extraordinary video yesterday where an F-15 pilot brought in an F-15 with one wing. Landed it safely.

I am thinking he was wondering if that feat was above his pay grade?!

The drive thru window at Mcdonald’s is above Barack “Can’t Say The Middle Name” Obama’s pay grade.

Or: “I don’t want to do it.”

Could you please change the word ‘job’ to ‘decision’ in the title of this thread, please? Thanks.

What job is "Above Your Pay Grade"?

Now that D.C. schools will pay students for their attendance, behavior and academic performance I'm afraid this will become a common refrain.

Little Barry Soetoro: "Miss Silvie, I'm afraid this homework assignment is above my pay grade."

I do anything that has to be done. Nothing is above my paygrade as far as I am concerned. I run a company that is not mine, get no health benefits, pays not that great ,not too bad as I help support most of my lib family(stepsister& her kids & grandkids). Been at it for 27 years. I do it because I was raised that way. Am I a sucker ,yeah, but oh well. I got job security. Most people now looking for jobs have that pay grade attitude and I just pass them over when hiring. One woman I interviewed was told some of the things expected of her,(filing, order processing and phones). Her reply I don’t do phones or more than one thing. She said she would only file and I would have to pay her more than what I was offering. I told her she was in the wrong place.

Don't you love it when the girl starts re-writing your job descriptions?

Is this a case of illegal aliens doing the jobs that are above your pay grade, Americans ???

Or am I confusing this with something else ???

I politely told her that as I assumed she didnt want a job that unemployment wouldnt be very happy about it. (She was collecting and wanted me to sign off that she came looking.)
She was happier sitting home and a little pissed that she had to go out to look for work to begin with and prove she did.
It’s not easy to find people who actually have any real work ethic anymore. Close to impossible. Mostly everyone is out looking for what they can get out of a situation without putting anything into it. Sad but true. I call it the “Degradation of America” Have been calling it that for about 10 years now as generations change and the lastest ones pretty much stink (here in NY anyway). If they see someone with something they don’t have, they try and destroy it. Key cars, bash windows, steal it etc.

Hi, Silvie! I just tuned in to Chris’ radio program. Have you been listening? I’m wondering if Chris has made the point that McCain doesn’t know what his wife’s investments are because of a blind trust so there are no conflicts of interests in his senate job.
