So I've been reading a bit over at the Democratic Underground lately, and today I think I came to a solid observation.
After hearing that the DU'ers were talking about how Palin's baby was not her own but her daughters, I was curious about what they were saying. So I went over there and took a look.
They were comparing this rumor to the events that became known as "Rathergate" (Remember how the Pajama Patrol came about?) They seriously think people like Rove orchestrated the shift or public perception from Bush from Dan Rather's shoddy Journalism...
In fact, every problem they encounter, they tend to blame on some sort of "Super Villain" persona in their mind. Rove, Rice, Cheney, etc. In their minds, they're going up against what they perceive to be on par with great fictitious villainous adversaries such as Lex Luthor, Dr. No or Hans Gruber.
at the Free Republic, it seems that the perspective of problems of the day aren't caused by people they see as super villains, but people who are just plain morons. So while the DU'ers act as if their fighting evil beings that have god-like powers, the Freepers seem to just be fed up with idiots.

In the present case, the media-left continuum will have to blame anybody but themselves for what is shaping up to be a monumental defeat: Diebold, Halliburton, Cheney, Rove, or, in some cases, lizard aliens from the 4th dimension. All will have a constituency supporting their culpability for the rejection of the messiah.

I venture over to DU and DK from time to time. I never agree with their perspective, but I can’t resist. I like to keep in mind what our political rivals are saying.
It’s easy to be amazed at the craziness/nastiness/stupidity of the postings at that site. But those people are not at the bottom of the fetid fever swamp that is leftism. A lot of the people who vote for Dem candidates are worse. People who are more interested in illegal drugs, nasty music and illicit sex than discussions about important things. They’re never on the ‘net. It’s why the left has never been able to get high ratings for a talk show Jabber Maven of their own. Their “base” voters (in both senses of the word) wouldn’t know a heuristic if it bit them...

Unfortunately, DU posters CANT THINK, CANT COMPREHEND, CANT analyze with intelligence and CANT use logic.
I’ve only wandered over to the DU once, out of curiosity, and I was stunned by the swearing and blasphemies that they post over there. Every other word seems to be the F-bomb or the S-bomb.
Now understand, I am no stranger to “Pirate Language” — I am fluent in English and French-Canadian swears. So the occasional Oath — used in an appropriate forum at an appropriate time and place — sits OK with me.
Even so, the DU tolerates and unbelievable level of gratuitous sewer-mouth language.
I felt like I had to go get a shower after my brief sojourn at DU, such was the filth.
That told me everything I ever needed to know about the DU.
And of course, they have a million and one excuses as to why their fake messiah has recanted on several issues that were very important to them. “It's his brilliant plan”....”He losing to win”, etc....
Good observation. It suits their victomhood premise; in order to be a victim, there must be someone to blame— someone else, that is.

Those French-Canadian ones are a hoot, aren't they? I guess you can use all the sexual and excretory language you want, and nobody but old ladies bats an eye. If you want to be really offensive you have to mention the Eucharistic altar vessels.
I only enter DU wrapped in the protective coating of PJ Comix.
