John McCain finally took the gloves off:
Now I believe Americas best days are ahead of us. Governor Palin and I are going to reform Wall Street. Were going to reform Washington. Im going to fight for you and Im going to lead our nation forward in the greatest periods of prosperity in its history. And lets have some straight talk. Senator Obama is not interested in the politics of hope, hes interested in his political future and thats why hes hurling in insults and making up facts about his record.
Today, he claimed that the Congressional stimulus package was his idea. Thats news to those of us in Congress who supported it. Senator Obama didnt even show up to vote.
He talks a tough game on the financial crisis, but the facts tell a different story. Senator Obama took more money from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac than anyone but the chairman of the committee they answer to. And he put Fannie Maes CEO, who helped create this problem in charge of finding his Vice President. Thats not change, thats whats broken in Washington.
He talked about siding with the people, siding with the people, just before he flew off to Hollywood for a fundraiser with Barbra Streisand and his celebrity friends. Let me tell you, my friends, there is no place Id rather be, than here, with the working men and women of Ohio. Im going to fight for you and together were going to win in November. (Sen. John McCain, Remarks At A Campaign Event, Vienna, OH, 9/16/08)
McClatchy, Lehmann Brothers,Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae are real life models of what happens when liberals are in charge of corporations:
Please wise and conservative, never invest your hard earned savings into stock of corporations controlled by liberals.
This is the kind of talk that turned me frome a luke warm supporter to not being able to wait to vote. I am for the first time going to vote early.
OUCH!!!...that’s going to leave a mark!
I’m so glad we finally have a Republican ready to THROW DOWN. This man is pleasantly surprising me every day.
Me too. I am SHOCKED at how ON he has been. For such an "old" guy, he really shows a lot of fire.

Dude, when Johnny Mac said it was time for a little straight talk, I knew he was gonna open up a can of whoop @$$! The Mac attack needs to hang Barry’s hypocrisy around his neck all the way to November.

That is a great line, he should shout it from the rooftops.
I know what you mean. I don’t kid myself that John McCain is going to turn into the conservatives’ best friend or anything — Lordy no — but it is absolutely a breath of fresh air to hear someone finally saying out loud many of the things we’ve been saying to each other for a long time. Who knows, maybe Sarah Palin has gotten to ole McJuan too!
There ya go Senator McCain! All the talk of Hopenchange and nothing of substance. All flash.
Keep talking Senator, show them how change really can be!

The old naval aviator is strapping himself into his Skyhawk for one last vital mission for his country. Fair winds and following seas, John McCain.
Meanwhile, as of 5 minutes ago, CNN was showcasing Obama's attack on McCain because McCain said that the fundamentals of the economy are still strong.
Wow, it seems Johnny really wants to win. That was concise, to the point, and a bullseye. Will it be reported? All I hear all day on ABC Radio is Øbama’s lies.
This is the way to victory for McCain. Expose his paper-thin, liberal record.
On another note, I’m really disappointed. I live about 30 miles up the PCH from Babs, and she didn’t invite me to her Malibu fund-raising bash tonight.
WOW!!!!!! Go MAC!!!!!! FIGHT BACK!!!!!
Good to see McCain and Palin are updating their speeches and messages. I was getting tired about hearing about Iraq and the surge.
The number one issue will be the economy, and we can’t afford to see that to Hussein Obama.
Very good!!!
Go McCain! Slap that Obama punk silly!
What is amazing about this is $125,000 that Obamba recieved was not only the second highest ... he did it in less than 4 years! Zero needs to be burned everyday about this!
And tonight Obama is having a nice $28,500 a plate fund raiser with the Libs in Beverly Hills while McCain and Palin have a sit down meal in a local diner with the good ol' folks!
“On another note, Im really disappointed. I live about 30 miles up the PCH from Babs, and she didnt invite me to her Malibu fund-raising bash tonight.”
She’s serving up a huge plate of snobberish pot pie accompanied by elitist salad and finished off with a desert of “getting BAKED by an ALASKAN”
AND...with Cindy McCain off one shoulder and Sarah Palin off the other, his speeches are really easy on the eyes ;)
Fianlly! He needs to call out all the dirty rats that took all this money so no investigations would take place. Rush was appalled at McCain’s spokeswoman blaming this on Bush. McCain really needs to fight this smear against republicans.
LOL. clever
What do you want to bet that McCain gets away with less than $15 a plate at the local diner tonight? And that will include a slice of homemade pie a scoop of ice cream and a good cup of coffee ... and the best part ... some good ol’ down home company and some meaningful talk!!!

(not) "Present"?
ALL of this goes right back to the Clinton Administration. Every bit of it.

Well, I’m from Youngstown and we have alot of everything your talking about there...shoot, I know my Mom would have made homemade pasta, sauce & meatballs for the whole planeload of them.
Zero takes credit for a lot of things that he never had a hand in. Every company has one of these guys ... thing is, if the Boss is smart, the Boss knows who to give the credit to.
So I did. I prayed--earnestly and specifically--for God to give McCain the courage and wisdom to "tear down" the lies that the Democrats have consistently put up to shield their actions from the light of day.
Then, within an hour, I found a thread about what McCain said at the rally.
Just another illustration of the truth contained in one of my husband's favorite lines: "Just remember, our snakes can eat their snakes!"
I bet your Mom simmers her sauce all day! Mmmmmmmm!
“And he put Fannie Maes CEO, who helped create this problem in charge of finding his Vice President. Thats not change, thats whats broken in Washington.”
Yeeeouch! That’s gonna leave a mark!
I don’t know what was said about Bush (he did push for more minority ownership) but there are Republicans taking up top spots in Fannie Mae money too. The question is when did they get their contributions and did they vote for or against McCain’s 2005 bill. Fair is fair.
Good job McCain !! Keep it up.
Fight like you life depends on it, ours does.
Take the gloves off and then throw them in the trash.
Huck is now on H&C hand wringing about both sides being too mean.
Go on eBay and buy some testosterone, you wuss.
Same message to the prisses at AmSpec who are always in a faint when McCain gets too Alpha Male.
Not so at NRO and Rush and Hannity and Levin and other spots -who get it.
As we do here.
Did you forget to tell her that your check for $28,000 was in the mail? :-)
