Most of us have the original signed by the Doctor, with footprints and all, and that tells you we are getting older.ost of us have the original signed by the Doctor, with footprints and all, and that tells you we are getting older.

Generally those are purely ceremonial documents that don't have any legal standing. Real birth certificates are pretty mundane looking. And I have no idea where the "original" is, although I've contacted the county courthouse where I was born a couple of times over the years to get copies.

I was born in a rural area and my ‘footprints and all’ is recored at the courthouse...different areas have different certificates, and the ‘certified b.c.’ may be a legal document that is simple, but the original given is usually very nice if you are over 50. The cost may have been prohibitive in large cities even that long ago.
