If a majority number of voters elect someone to public office (despite their history, political stance or general proclivities that might offend the minority voters)
the people have spoken and nothing can stand in the way (constitutionally). ;-)
The Congress stands between the voice of the People and the Presidency. It can impeach and remove a president no matter what the People say or want.
