Horus Has Had His Suspicions About the Closet of Doom

Now that I have navigated successfully the Bermuda Triangle of Storage that is the Closet of Doom, I realize that Horus rightly has been concerned about my welfare when I am up in the office. Especially when I go into the closet! When I occasionally would venture in there to look for something that had been swallowed up, he would follow me in with all his feline indicators on high alert. I just chalked it up to inexplicable cat behavior, bt now I know that he truly feared for my well-being. Not that I am anthropomorphizing, really. He wasn’t concerned because he LOVES me; he was afraid that the Closet of Doom might consume the being who controls the Good Closet, the Closet of Kitty Delights. Believe me, I know: with Horus, it’s all about him..

That’s really funny! I cleaned out some bins and drawers and closets earlier this week (van-load of Stuff to The Salvation Army on Tuesday), and the catz were very upset. They were especially annoyed because I got enough out of the clothes-storage bins that I could get the lids on, so they couldn’t sleep in the clothes any more. Nothing a cat likes better than sleeping on clean clothes!

You’re right. And boxes! First thing all three of the cats did when I pulled the first empty box out of the closet was climb in it and curl up. I was over at my sister’s house a few days ago and had carried my gym bag into the house (so I could change into comfortable clothes). Loocie, her little kitty, climbed right in and made herself at home. I almost “accidentally” walked out the door with her. (She is SOOO cute. Surely we need another cat!)

Our catz love to sit in instrument cases. As soon as we take the banjo out, Shannon’s in the case. Wednesday is too big, has to find an open guitar case!

Horus would need a cello case! (Just kidding, Horus, don’t get your back up.)

LOL! I suppose we could get a smaller cat to sit in the mandolin case, and then we could have an all-cat bluegrass band :-). We keep getting more catz in the hope of finding one who likes us ...

Isn’t that just the thing with cats? You get one...pretty soon you have a CATastrophe on your hands. (That’s what I call a houseful of cats.) I just threaten to put them all in a catamaran and sail them to Catalina Island. OK, I’ll stop now.
