If true, then McCain and Palin ought to be bringing up the fact that if Obama is elected, the federal prosecutors will simply be fired and replaced with Obama cronies who will be good little Brownshirts.

Agreed. Have you seen any “Obama or Revolution” bumperstickers? They’re out there.

I don't think I will hold my breath until Obama is in jail. And I doubt if there are enough cops to take him there. The Donks have created a monster this time, because jailing him will bring on riots that put all others to shame.

My guess is that McCain and the top level of the Republicans knew of the timing of this investigation and have played their entire strategy with that schedule.

I agree. Fitzgerald knows that he will be "reassigned" the moment Obamao is sworn in... and filing charges after November 4th on the President-Elect would be a fiasco on so many levels. It is rumored that many of Barry's patrons in Chicago want Fitzgerald's removal first and foremost. Love him or hate him, Fitzgerald can be pretty rough and has made their lives much more difficult.

The way I look at it, many of us can see how ruinous an Obama presidency would be to the US. Just think about what all Fitz has seen after three years chasing the likes of the Chicago machine... he came to Chicago with the sole purpose of cleaning up the place and he isn't going to throw it away because some politician (particularly one such as The One) or party is going to be adversely affected before election day.

Sure, if he had another choice as to timing, I am sure he would wait, but he doesn't, and the political heat brought from the likes of Obama isn't going to be near enough to overpower his Elliot Ness complex.

I think Obama will be lucky to make it to Thursday without hearing from Fitzgerald.

Steady pabi, Red was just indulging in some wishful thinking. Although Rezko and Giannoulas had better make sure their next van driver isn't Ted Kennedy, and they don't detour through Fort Marcy Park.

BTW, Obama is not a crook. He is the Magic Marxist Mulatto pre-ordained by Allah to become your very next President, unless if by miraculous means* a certain senior citizen of our acquaintance doesn't wake up.

* If Divine Lightning fails to wake up McC, how about a a really swift kick in the stern sheets, as we sailors like to say.

I think the Impeachment Saga should have taught us to not put any faith in these reports.

It is all just wishful thinking.

That is a joke. The left posted a bogus story a few years back about "Rove will be indicted in 24 hours" and when he wasn't, they said it was 24 business hours. Sorry to get your hopes up, but Obama won't be going anywhere.

I'm going to throw a bit of cold water on this. If Obama got a favorable rate on the loan for his townhouse and did a political favor in return, I just don't see how it amounts to an act of official bribery. It seems to me he would have had to to an official act to run afoul of the bribery laws.

You're right; Bribery's tough to prove, but where there's smoke there's usually a flame somewhere (especially in Chicago), and Fitzgerald's just the guy to track it down and shine some bright lights on it. Have you noticed how Obama is coming out with lots of new government giveaways when he'd seem to be better off just staying vague?

” think Obama will be lucky to make it to Thursday without hearing from Fitzgerald. “

I agree. For one thing Bush will get to sign the Dept. of Justice orders/indictment on Obama, if there is an indictment. It has been since June that Rezko was sentenced and locked up...from what has been written he has been talking for months. Don’t you know that would be a sweet signature for Bush??! AND, there is no way Fitzgerald is going to wait until after the elction...just in case Obama is anointed. He is the prosecutre from MY that took down the Gambino family, radical cleric that bombed NY and if the CHICAGO papers are humming about an indictment, believe it.

Exactly. I think that some of 1990’s holdovers at DOJ are burning the midnight oil for Billy Jeff.

The RNC just sent out a nice little press release about the direction that Justice is taking Rezko...link at bottom...most of it is familiar, but a few more details are emerging in relation to some of Chicago’s filthiest.

Regardless of Fitz’s timing, when you are toasting people that are described with words like Baath Party, Oil-for-Food Scandal, and Iraqi-Born Billionaire, it is pretty tough to tell the plumber that he wants to “spread the wealth around” like he did today.

Let’s take a look at a couple of highlights, shall we?

Is Rezko Describing Whether Obama Is The Illinois Government Official Rezko Asked To Help Auchi Obtain A Visa?

The Government Officials Approached Are Not Known, But Sen. Obama Had Just Taken Office In The U.S. Senate In 2005. “The officials who Rezko approached are not specified. Sen. Obama had just taken office as a U.S. senator in 2005, the same year he sought Rezko’s help in the purchase of his home.” (Brain Ross, “Obama ‘Backer’ Rezko Ordered To Jail,” ABC News’ “The Blotter” Blog, www.abcnews.com, 1/28/08)

The Infamous House Deal:

Auchi’s Wire Transfer To Rezko Came Less Than Two Months Before The Obamas And Rita Rezko Closed On The Purchases Of The Obama Home And Adjoining Lot Respectively. “April 28, 2005: Mr. Auchi’s conglomerate General Mediterranean Holding (GMH) lends $3.5 Million to Tony Rezko. ... June 15 2005: Mr. Rezko’s wife Rita buys garden plot on same day as Obamas buy neighbouring mock Georgian mansion from same seller. Mrs. Rezko pays asking price of $625,000, with a $500,000 mortgage. Obamas pay $1.65 million, which is $300,000 less than the asking price.”

Is Rezko Describing Joseph Cari’s Relationship With Joe “Stand up for Chuck” Biden?

Joseph Cari Pleaded Guilty In Conjunction With The Rezko Case. “Chicago restaurateur and real estate developer Antoin ‘Tony’ Rezko, one of Mr. Obama’s first major political donors, was convicted in June on charges of using his Illinois connections to seek kickbacks from firms wanting to do business with the state — an investigation that also netted a guilty plea from Joseph Cari Jr., former national finance chairman for the Democratic National Committee and a longtime supporter and political adviser to Mr. Biden.”
