Why not? She's queen, after all.
Also,
Buckingham Palace says that the boots were more for function than fashion, as the Queen took a brisk walk through the Slovakian Tatra mountains on a three day tour of Slovakia and Slovenia this week.

Nonsense. These are pilots boots. Again... the Gestapo wore civilian clothes (else they wouldn’t have been secret... duh). Since most of them were also members of the party SD (security service) they wore the black (pre-1939) and grey (post-1939) uniform, which included black riding boots. They had no zippers or wool lining... the pic you posted are as I said pilot’s boots.
She is Her Royal Highness, The Queen of England, Wales, and maybe likes wearing stylish boots?
:-))
Either way, do you think she polished them herself?
She looks adorable in those boots, I tell ya!
Now, let’s work on that mid-1940’s hairstyle..... QE2 needs Sara Palin’s makeup and hairstylist PRONTO!
Sometimes .... a boot is just a dang boot.
I know that she does work on her horses herself, so she might’ve polished her boots herself as well.
That an 82 year old woman can still wear heels like that. My feet would be killing me.

No kidding. I think she looks fantastic.
Ever been in Cattle country> If you have, you haven't paid much attention to men's work clothes.
Wow, those look a lot like my tanker boots from the army. No zipper though, and definitely no sheepskin lining. Maybe Obama will order up a bunch of these for his Civilian Defense Force.
Her Majesty is the granddaughter of King George V and Queen Mary.
Her great grandmother was Queen Victoria, whose husband was Prince Albert of Saxe Coberg.
She is related to the Kaiser by the fact that Victorias daughter, Vicky married Prince Friedrich of Prussia who's son was Kaiser Wilhelm II.
You are correct in this regard; when William of Orange died and that line died out with him, King George I was brought over from Hanover to be king. He brought various and sundry like the Battenberg princes who in WWI changed their name to Mountbatten. Phillip Mountbatten, Elizabeth's husband is the son of Prince Andrew of Greece who was born in Denmark and is the grandson of Princess Alexandra of Denmark, wife to Edward the VII.
If you wonder why the British line ante Diana (fresh genes)is a little dull, e.g. Prince Charles draw a diagram of what I typed above. Co-sanguinity, not so good.
The boots posted in the pic are German pilot’s flight boots... There was no such thing as Gestapo boots, as they wore civilian dress.
What, no “Ilsa: She-wolf of the SS” pictures?
I said King George V was the cousin of the Czar and the Kaiser through the fecund Queen Victoria.
I said the House of Windsor has German roots.
All that is TRUE!
So what are you sending me to the corner for?
Please no pics of Pelosi!!!
Damnit man! Where are standards?
I give a correct answer and get sent to the corner? Last time I speak up in YOUR class! ;)
The Queen was BOMBED by the Germans in WWII.
Central London WAS “ground zero” for the Nazi bombs, and she did not leave London for safer houses outside the city.
- The title and implication behind it - are repulsive - but typical for today’s media.
