They each have their own deffintion of “conservative”....and want no other...and anyone that disagrees on ANY part of their deffinition....is immediately exiled.
Pretty hard to get ONE person elected with this lack of compromise.

We did it in 64 with Goldwater, in 80 with Reagan, and in 94 with Gingrich and Congress. It can be done.

Your post is exactly what I need today. Im too young to remember Goldwater, but have always heard good things about him. Time for me to find the truth and somehow I don’t think I will be disapointed. Going to B&N website now.

None taken and I don’t remember him in his prime I only knew him in his later years. I grew up in the Regan era. My grandfather introdued me to Goldwater and after my wilderness years I ame back to him and Buckley with a passion.
