Another sign that, while the Dems having so many seats is depressing, having a big tent can be a BIG headache. The far left is going to get VERY impatient and the Dems in conservative states have to think about their next election eventually.

Of course they won’t. If they had 60+ Senate seats, you could bet they’d be singing a different tune.

unless there is a sinister agenda here, they would be wise to let it be. These are the best voices on our side, and only 10% of the adult population are listening to the most popular one.

They control the mass media and the message. If Rush ever departed radio for TV and had a larger audience, he would have more impact. As important as radio is to us, it didn’t help us win in the primary or general this time around.

They don't have to. They can leave that to the U.N. and "net neutrality."

If they want to apply it to one medium, it should be painfully obvious to everyone that they’re trying to silence Conservative radio.

Whew, that’s a relief. I sure am glad to hear a Democrat say something, because that means it’s true.

"When Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid says it, I will consider believing it"

There is something very wrong with this statement...

Yes, one of the flaws in their plan is that if they try to re-impose the “fairness” doctrine, it would look fishy if they didn’t apply it to public broadcasting and public radio. If they applied it to PBS, that scumbag Bill Moyers would loose his place on the publicly funded gravy train.

Trying to control one medium (talk radio) would just result in the content they are trying to control moving to another.
Or, we are getting word-smithed. The current Fairness Doctrine is obsolete; they need to devise a new one that plugs the alternate media holes and gets a new name.

Wasn't the winning, he was happy about that. It was the CIA intel briefing they gave him this morning. One look at that and Zerobama panicked.

Listen to Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D. Md). He thinks the Fairness Doctrine is obsolete given the large variety of media outlets.

Van Hollen is behind the curve. I understood Schumer to be including all media in a new "Fairness Doctrine". Hey, if China can control everything including the Internet, what is to stop an Obama Nation.

They won’t do it. There would be too big of a backlash. They’ll pass things and the MSM will tout it as “governing from the center” because they negotiate with the likes of Collins, Snowe, Spector,....McCain.

Most rats are still making ugly noises on this issue so I think that they will pass a law but it will stop short of full implementation of the fairness doctrine. The rats will be leery of being accused of killing AM radio. In addition, there are more left wing talk radio shows than right wing. The lefty shows just have much less audience. I think the rats will put some additional requirements on AM stations that force the stations to air more rat approved programming. This requirement will essentially be a tax on profitable AM stations.
