The carpeting is nice, as are the free back rubs from Congressional interns.
And I love the ads we get in the Metro, especially targetted ads at the stops around places like Congress and the Pentagon. I'm not sure ads for aircraft carriers are targetted at the average commuter in most cities.....

My point is that such a statement is pure propaganda because it fails to acknowledge that some of the spending in red states is for the benefit of blue states; military spending being one of them and roadways being another.
Colorado has NORAD and the Federal Center, both located here in the center of the nation for protection. Employees at those locations pay income taxes to their respective home States. But that dollar figure isn’t counted by the propagandists.
Also, we buy things from all States at those locations but the liberal propaganda fails to consider that. For instance, one place I know here in Colorado uses a $100,000 device that it purchases from California. Liberals will count that $100,000 as payment to Colorado.
The liberals wackos only say that blue states lose because by twisting the numbers and only telling a partial truth can they seem to be better. Propaganda is nothing but telling a lie or a half truth, which is also a form of a lie. This blue states get less is nothing but a half-truth.
If you want to play truthful then state welfare programs and their expenditures and not throw in the spending that even the blue states benefit from, unless you’d like us to withhold military protections.
I thought so. btw...if you are going to buy gold get the smaller coins - 1/2, 1/4, 1/8 ounce. Much easier to barter should it come to that.

I started prepping for this a while back; got a tent from my dad and started loading up on outdoor and survival gear. If I’m going to be living in a tent, I’m going to do my best to live well.
Plan stocking up on ammo soon, as well as gas and hopefully MREs and other non-perishables (MREs are hard to come by except online).

The blue state of CA can easily afford to pay more since they have a few million illegals that don’t pay a dime but provide the cheap labor to support CA’s #1 industry, agriculture. Take away the illegal cheap labor and see what they can afford to pay in taxes.

Are you really buying into the liberal myth that illegals are a benefit to a particular economy? Come on. Whatever benefits illegals might provide to places like California are easily overshadowed by the costs- bankrupt hospitals, increased use of welfare services, crime etc.

The scenario being discussed, IMO, is one where goods are scarce, currency is distrusted and varies in valuation over time, and there is no real place to hide. If there was a place to hide, would that place still accept devalued currency or even have goods available? Under that scenario would you rather pay $100 or the equivalent in gold for a loaf of bread or have the skills to produce the ingredients and then bake it yourself in a wood-fired clay oven that you have also made yourself? Eventually, the hoarded currency is gone. This is a world where the old saying :"Eat the rich" has real meaning.
My son is a programmer/security technician and also is one of those people who can fix all sorts of electronic things or build them from scrap parts, if those are available, or actually build the parts, if raw material and tools are available. He is currently is SoDak after putting together a composite lifestyle, where he can earn income with his skills and also live well when there is no one able to actually pay for them or when money has lost it's value. The downside is there are no trees, except those planted for shade/windbreaks, if fuel is needed, water is scarce and drought is common, making subsistence food production problematic, weather-dependent and labor intensive.
There are all sorts of ultra-rich folks who have purchased land in Paraguay, for example. First, they need to be able to find a flight down there in a time of fuel shortages and mass panic. Then, they have to be able to find the materiel and labor with which to build something in which to live and transport it from a port or city to their land. They may not find a ready-made electrical grid or a potable water source. They have to be able to secure a supply of food and are not the types to grow it, hunt it, process it nor even cook it for themselves. They will need security and have to trust those they hire to provide it. That's just for starters, and assumes that Paraguay, or anywhere else, is disposed to accept Americans, or any foreigners, if things get truly bad.
All the money in the world will not do any of us a bit of good if no one trusts it and if nothing extra is available from producers for sale. All the high end skill sets are at the least, devalued, in a low tech world, excepting the ability to maintain and repair the remnants of the present society. Even physicians doubt the value of their skills if the machinery they work with is unavailable and the drugs they rely upon have passed their shelf-life. At that point, a trained medic is just as good.
Not too bad an idea. Been doing that the last year + canned goods. Good investments if nothing else - over a 20% return.
Can of has at Wal-Mart $1.00 - $1.06 - $1.18 in six months. Wal-Mart brand hot salsa (a staple in my house) $1.50 - $1.68 - $1.92 in six months. etc, etc. Track any brand and type of food in your supermarket and see that inflation is at 20% or more. Another racket - less weight for the same price. Or, repackaging - 10 Wal-Mart burritos for $3.19 (was $2.98 two montha ago) now eight for $2.98 - advertised as a ROLLBACK!
The author might not be too far off.
