What an asshat Deepak turned out to be.
He’s basically Guru Maharaj-ji, all grown up.
If you don’t know who that was, he was the “boy Guru”
at age 13 who had a brief vogue , probably briefer than
the guru the Beatles followed, whose name escapes me.

Beatles guru , just looked it up, was Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
Just died in Feb of 2008
Now that I think of it, The Guru Maharaj- ji , who was
all of 13 when he hit our shores in 1971, and who, the Internet tells me, is ‘hard to find these days’ , is probably re-incarnated in the form of Barack Hussein Obama.
What a FRIGGIN’ RIDICULOUS WORLD WE LIVE IN!!!
ARE WE THAT DEFENSELESS AGAINST BEING RULED BY IDIOT PRETENDERS??????
And the Left pretends to be SECULAR???????

Deepak is a guy who gets it personally, but fails to understand that the world's sociopaths will never get it as a result of our being meek in the face of aggression and set a humble example for them. While it is true that "what you resist, persists" and military opposition can often strengthen and embolden an aggressor, Islam doesn't really work that way. Standing up to Muslim aggression knocks them back into quiescence - but might not work as well with the Russians or Chinese.

Deepak's teachings aren't much different from what Jesus said about turning the other cheek - but if you want to actually live on the Earth among amoral, sociopathic religious fanatics, they don't work very well. On the other hand, if one is in a hurry to die and rejoin the other side, the Muslims will be happy to accommodate you.

See my # 3.
Not baba rum raisin.
Not even anything edible.
Too bad Ben and Jerry weren’t around quite then creating
novel flavors. They would’ve had a field day.

PBS has a lot of pretty good stuff, but the bunch of phony gurus it promotes is enough to put me off from contributing any of our hard earned money on their programs. Deepak Chopra says a lot without saying anything, as does Wayne Dyer (of the ever-circling hands club). I hate it when I feel like somebody is trying to use some transparent psychological technique on me. There are a few more phonies making big bucks with hogwash books and tapes.

Deepak is a doctor who fortunately is more spiritual and may be much closer to the Truth than America's atheist radio doctor, Dean Edell.

Only closer to "The Truth" in the spiritual sense, certainly not in the medical sense. Chopra is a quack.

Deepak Chopra is a HINDU masquerading under the Western guise of Transcendental Meditation. He does not worship Jesus, the Hindus do NOT. His worldview is anything but Christian and hence, anything he teaches is also skewed.

(former TMer).

A friend of my Dad's was producing an NBC TV documentary on the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi when he was at the peek of his Beatleness. But the project was canned when it became clear that off-camera the Maharishi was more interested in his Bombay condos and 100 ft. yacht than the souls of man.

He was a huge fake. Mia Farrow was really disappointed.

“Be assured that a walk through the seas of Deepak Chopra’s soul would scarcely get the bottom of your feet wet”

My paraphrase of a line from “The Deteriorata”

Pure pseudo spiritual baloney. New age meaningless feel good crap.

I’ll put my faith in the common sense of Joe SixPack rather than Ol’ Deepak...

I don't seek out my clergy for medical advice, and I don't go to my doctor for spiritual advice. Dr. Dean ROCKS!

DeepPockets Chopra is a b*llsh*tter of the highest caliber, who has made a ton of money off of silly westerners.

Agreed. Dr. Dean is one of my favorites. Most clergy of any religion that venture into the medical field are quacks, prayer and advocating healthy lifestyles being exceptions of course.

The Beatles were also disappointed I seem to remember reading, when it became quickly clear that Maharishi M. Yogi was quite a bit of a dirty old man too, who couldn’t keep his eyes or hands off all the young girls around the
“camp”.

Dr. Dean was a great debunker, and I miss his radio show in the New York market. He must still be in some markets though. I had no idea he was an atheist. Never made a point of talking about it.
