Democrat Governor Rod Blagojevich was taken into custody by federal agents in Chicago on corruption charges this morning. As reported by the Chicago Tribune Blagojevich was attempting to sell Pres-elect Barack Hussein Obama’s U.S. Senate chair.

Go to any democratically controlled state, and this is common practice. It appears the Governor is going to go with the defense that he wasn’t aware that he crossed a legal line, and at all times he attempted to keep his conduct legal. The old quid pro quo, in that he never directly named a price for the senate seat, but from some of the taped conversation excerpts that have been published, it looks like he’ll end up in deep water. I’d guess that in the end, he’ll be able to cut a deal with prosecutors, to the effect that he didn’t know it was illegal, and he’s sorry, and he’ll resign. He should, of course end up with 20 years.

Does anyone have Blagojevich linked to Obama prior to the Presidential run? I am trying to hold up my end of an argument that Blagojevich and Obama are connected in Ill politics. The other side says Daily and Blagojevich are from one sect and Obama is not connected to them. This is the first I have heard of that. Any one can point me in the right direction?

Chicago Machine watchers (I am not one, I just read them) generally agree that Obama saw the corruption, benefited from it, but did not partake. Google “John Kass obama” Kass is from Chicago and is no fan of Obama, but he reports straight up.
Don’t let your hatred blind you to reality. I’m no Obama fan either, but I keep my eyes open.
