These days I’ve been scratching my head wondering what in the world is going on with a man I used to admire. I’m talking about Newt Gingrich. Newt’s new style of softball politically correct politics has really got me wondering, When did Newt decide to sell his soul ?

ALL: “Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.”

Let’s pray for people instead of curse them.

We need to exhort, not kick, people who fall short of our ideals.

On the contrary, from his recent posts on his own website he seems to be going on the offensive.

I think Newt has 2012 aspirations, and he is positioning himself as a “man of solutions” and not a partisan.

I still think he’s solid, FWIW.

Yup, Newt’s gone wobbley. Definately become a “Washingtonian”. Funny how it took him to get voted out of Washington to become a Washingtonian. I will be disregarding him in the future. Let’s not get hung up over him. Time to move on.

Newt is trying to have it both ways: appear aggressive enough to be RNC chairman, but also be “nice” enough to be invited on TV shows and get a big speaking fee.

He hopped in for a week or so and then got out. I think he saw an opening and wanted to, but decided it couldn’t be done given the Republican opposition already had the field sewn up. I don’t know what his plans are for sure, but he is acting like someone who wants to run again. Age will be a factor.

“Oh yeah, it’s so terrible that Newt wants to work with Democrats and help solve problems. Let’s castrate him!”

Yes. It is. The dems are going to do what they are going to do, regardless. All this kind of behavior does is give the the bipartisan cover they so treasure so that the voters don’t know who to blame when things go seriously south.

The dems and George Soros now own America lock stock and barrel. They are going to mess things up big time. I want it to be perfectly clear who’s fault it is. That’s how Reagan got elected. The dems had control of everything and screwed things up the way socialists always do. That lead to the Reagan revolution. That could have happened in Calif had we not been so stupid as to elect Arnold. Now blame for the disaster that is CA is unclear and the voters will never throw the socialists there out.

This is the only way the Republican Party will become known as the “better solutions” party, not just an opposition party. And this is the only way Republicans will ever regain the trust of the voters to return to the majority.

I would love to be known as the "cocklebur under the saddle blanket" party. Growing a mutually shared backbone is the only way to regain the trust of the voting majority. Kowtowing to HWMNBN will only perpetuate derision and contempt against a spineless political hack.

I believe I caught Newt's measure when I helped reelect him only to have him immediately resign for a personal indiscretion.

Are you that naive, or are you playing dumb?

Mr. Tri-partisanship has decided to embrace Global warming, Hillary care and bailouts to name three. He’s being wrung over coals because he’s echoing Democrat policies and Democrat talking points. I don’t care if Reagan rose from the dead. If he did the same I’d slam him down as well.

This obsession with defending people over policies has really got to end. I don’t care if any one of these people were or are your hero’s. I used to like G.W.B. I used to defend him or at least look the other way until he just pushed once too far and that was it. That was my lesson learned. No more. I like Sarah, but if she jumps off the cliff I’ll dump her butt too. Same goes for Jindal, Sanford or anyone else. No more free rides for faces. I expect conservative principles advanced or I won’t give you the time of day.

Newt’s turned, and deserve no respect for having done so. let the media and Liberals fawn over him. that should be enough.

There is an open war going on in the Republican Party for its soul. Is this party Democrat Lite or is this still the party of Ronald Reagan.

Well, should Newt join in the attacks on Governor Sarah Palin, then we’ll know for certain what side he has taken.

As for crossing the asile, okay, fine, work with democrats to find solutions. But if working means compromising your principals into dust, then that is what you become, insignificant particles under democrat shoes. And frankly, that’s where you belong.

Just remember this... when they say, "it's not about the money..."

It's all about the money. He's a man, not a saint. Maybe we need a good depression, a terrorist attack on our soil and the complete capitulation of law and order in large areas of our country. The bottom line is that the "Inner Party" and its families need to be affected by this in such a large degree that they flounder, fail and let the proles rise up and take over with novel concepts like,

-rule of law

the right to own property

right to keep and bear arms

freedom of assembly

freedom to worship

“The dems had control of everything and screwed things up the way socialists always do. That lead to the Reagan revolution.”

Things look quite screwed up now. I have never seen it so bad in my 47 years. I suppose we got thoroughly blamed for this screwed up state of affairs and lost big because of it. I think you are right and the pendulum will swing back eventually, but I think for a while people will feel too negative towards the Republican party to happily jump on some sort of Gingrich revolution or Jindal revolution now. I think the pendulum will swing back, as it always does, but as screwed up as things are today it may take a bit longer than we think/hope.

I respectfully disagree to a point with your statement. Although I do not like BHO I do pray for his soul and for our country but this scripture cannot be applied in all things.

This has to do with the law and the future of our country. All actions have consequences and if he broke the law, he has to reap the consequences, what ever this might be. We are not talking about adultery here.
