When youre crossing a swamp as deep and wide as Chicago, it helps to have a navigator. Of course, a case could be made that VJ was the one who invited the Obamas into the swamp in the first place.
Whatever VJs role may have been, its clear that at this juncture, it wouldnt be prudent to abandon this mentor and give her a reason to start airing her beefs on deep background with reporters like John Kass.
