What makes us feel spiritual? It could be the quieting of a small area in our brains, a new study suggests.
The area in question the right parietal lobe is responsible for defining "Me," said researcher Brick Johnstone of Missouri University. It generates self-criticism, he said, and guides us through physical and social terrains by constantly updating our self-knowledge: my hand, my cocktail, my witty conversation skills, my new love interest ...

Toning down dissonance from the soul would be essential to ‘hearing the still small voice’ ...
This isn’t the spirituality spot; it’s the original sin spot—activity here makes one less likely to be spiritual.
seems like junk science.
so if someone votes for conservatives, the federal officials will order a spirit-ectomy of the brain.
muslims are against non-muslims doing that. Meanwhile here at home the RATs feel that only the entitled should be allowed to breathe and everyone else should have to pay for it, the moderates aren't sure if it's a good or a bad thing and conservatives think that breathing is a God given right.
You got my intent 100%. ;-)
Wouldn't that make the "me definer" spot the anti-spiritual spot?
Only controversial to those who use it for reductionism.
Otherwise it’s like saying ears are necessary for music appreciation.
Whoa. . .quick glance at the headline and I thought I’d read; “Spirituality Found in Britain”
Boy. . .had me going for a moment, I thought the Empire was making a comeback.
